Rivalries are common in baseball. The Yankees have the Red Sox the Cubs have the Cardinals, and so on. Xaverian’s chief rivals are Regis and Fordham Prep. The two schools are located less than 10 miles apart in the Bronx, which only adds to the intensity of the rivalry.

Xaverian and Regis first played each other in baseball in 1941, with Xaverian coming out on top, 9-3. The two teams have been playing each other nearly every year since then. In fact, they’ve played each other more than any other team in Xaverian’s history.

Xaverian has a slight edge in the all-time series, winning 54 of the 97 games that have been played between the two teams. But Regis has had the upper hand lately, winning 9 of the last 10 games.
