From Baseball to Business: Zay Pena’s Story
Zay Pena had a successful career in baseball, but when he was ready to retire, he wanted to find a new challenge. He turned to business, and now he’s the CEO of his own company.
Pena says that the biggest adjustment from baseball to business was the pace. In baseball, there’s a lot of down time, and you have to be able to stay focused for long periods of time. In business, things move much faster, and you have to be able to make quick decisions.
But Pena says that the two fields have more in common than you might think. Both require strategic thinking, teamwork, and discipline. And both are based on relationships – with customers, employees, and partners.
Pena says that the key to success in business is always learning and growing. You can never stop trying to improve, whether it’s your product or your processes. And you have to be open to new ideas – even if they’re outside your comfort zone.
