Major League Baseball’s (MLB) 2022 season is set to begin on April 1, with all 30 teams in action. The league will be using a new format for the season, which will see each team play 20 games against division rivals and 40 games against teams from the other divisions in their league. This schedule is designed to create more interleague play and help rivalries develop between teams.
In addition to the format change, the league has also made some changes to the rules of the game. The most notable change is the introduction of a designated hitter (DH) for all games, which will add another offensive option for teams. Other rule changes include a limitation on the number of Relief pitchers that can be used in a game, and an increase in the minimum number of innings pitched by starting pitchers.
With spring training underway and Opening Day just around the corner, let’s take a look at the teams that will be competing in the MLB’s 2022 season.
