Bill Russell – 5-time NBA MVP

Bill Russell was the first player in NBA history to be named MVP for five seasons. He won the award in 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1966. During his 13-year career, all with the Boston Celtics Russell won 11 NBA Championships He was named to 12 All-Star teams and was voted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1974.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – 6-time NBA MVP

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the only player in NBA history to win the MVP Award six times. He won the award a record five times in a row from 1971 to 1975 and again in 1977. Abdul-Jabbar is also the All-time leading scorer in NBA history with 38,387 career points.

Magic Johnson – 3-time NBA MVP

Arguably the greatest point guard of all time, Magic Johnson redefined the position in the 80s with his unrivaled Court Vision precise passing and ability to take over games. The 6’ 9” playmaker was also a superb rebounder for his position, averaging over 7 boards per game for his career.

Larry Bird – 3-time NBA MVP

Larry Bird was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998, and is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He led the Boston Celtics to three NBA championships and was a three-time NBA MVP He is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having won back-to-back titles in 1992 and 1996.

Wilt Chamberlain – 4-time NBA MVP

Wilt Chamberlain was a dominant force in the NBA for many years, becoming one of only a handful of players to be named MVP on four occasions. He was named MVP in the 1959-60 season after averaging an incredible 50.4 points per game and he would go on to win the award three more times over the course of his career. Chamberlain is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history and his legacy continues to this day.

Moses Malone – 3-time NBA MVP

Moses Malone is the only player in NBA history to be named MVP three times. He was named MVP of the league in 1979 and 1982 with the Houston Rockets and again in 1983 with the Philadelphia 76ers. Malone was a dominant force in the paint, averaging 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds per game for his career. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.

Oscar Robertson – 1-time NBA MVP

Oscar Robertson was the first player to average a triple double over the course of an entire season. He did it in 1961-62, averaging 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists per game He was also a nine-time All-Star and a three-time All-NBA First Team selection.

Tim Duncan – 2-time NBA MVP

Tim Duncan is a two-time NBA MVP winning the award in 2002 and 2003. He was also named the NBA Finals MVP in 1999 and 2003, becoming only the fourth player in NBA history to win both awards in the same year. Duncan is a 15-time NBA All-Star and has been selected to the All-NBA First Team 10 times. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020.
