The 10 Ugliest NBA Sweaters of All Time: Part 2
In our last installment of the 10 Ugliest NBA Sweaters of All Time, we took a look at some of the least fashion-forward jerseys the league has ever seen. From the Charlotte Hornets’ teal travesty to the Milwaukee Bucks’ deer-in-the-headlights duds, there were some truly heinous ensembles on that list.
And yet, as bad as those jerseys were, they don’t even hold a candle to the sartorial atrocities you’re about to see. These are the 10 ugliest NBA sweaters of all time… part 2.
The 10 Ugliest NBA Sweaters of All Time: Part 3
For the third and final installment in our series on the 10 Ugliest NBA Sweaters of All Time, we’ll be taking a look at the sweaters worn by the Charlotte Hornets Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks These are truly terrible sweaters, and we can only hope that the teams involved ve learned from their mistakes and will never subject us to such horrors ever again.
The Charlotte Hornets debuted their “teal-winged” abominations in the 1995-96 season. The design is an assault on the senses, with a jarring mix of colors and patterns that somehow manage to be both busy and boring at the same time. The overall effect is something like a cross between a mime’s outfit and a pajama set for an infant.
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ “Ruffled Feathers” jerseys were apparently inspired by a piece of abstract art, which explains a lot. They look like someone took a standard NBA jersey and then decided to just…add random ruffles all over it for no apparent reason. It’s as if someone said “OK, we’ve got this perfectly good sweatshirt…now let’s just make it even uglier!”
And finally, we have the Dallas Mavericks’ “Mootown” jerseys, which look like they were designed by a 12-year-old using Microsoft Paint. The sloppily-rendered cartoon moose is bad enough on its own, but when paired with the tacky blue-and-white stripes it becomes truly nightmarish. We can only imagine the horrified expressions on the faces of Mavericks players when they first saw these things.
The 10 Ugliest NBA Sweaters of All Time: Part 4
We’re back with part four of our series on the ugliest NBA sweaters of all time. Today, we’ll be looking at the 10 worst offenders from the 1990s. From terrible color schemes to tacky designs, these sweaters are truly ugly. So without further ado, let’s get started.
In at number 10 is the Charlotte Hornets’ teal and purple alternates from the 1995-96 season. These sweaters are just an eyesore, and are made even worse by the fact that they feature the team’s old ’90s logo.
Next up is the Denver Nuggets’ rainbow alternates from the 1992-93 season. These jerseys are incredibly busy, and feature a nauseating color scheme that is just too much to handle.
The third ugliest sweater on our list is the Los Angeles Clippers’ teal sleeved alternates from the 1993-94 season. Not only are these sweaters incredibly ugly, but they also feature one of the worst NBA logos of all time.
coming in at number two is the Miami Heat’s black alternates from the 1995-96 season. These jerseys feature a garish black and orange color scheme, and are made even worse by the team’s hideous ’90s logo.
And finally, we have arrived at the ugliest sweater on our list: the Milwaukee Bucks’ green alternates from the 1994-95 season. These jerseys are an absolute travesty, and feature a color scheme that can only be described as ‘Christmas vomit.’ We hope you never have to lay eyes on these sweaters again.

The Phoenix Suns’ Purple Mountain Tea jerseys from the 2002-03 season are some of the most vile sweaters in NBA history The jerseys feature an ugly shade of purple, and the Suns’ logo is barely visible. What’s worse, the team wore these jerseys on Feb. 28, 2003 – a date that will live in infamy for Suns fans. On that day, the Suns lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 92-91, and all-time great Charles Barkley played his final NBA game
The 10 Ugliest NBA Sweaters of All Time: Part 9
The 1990s were not kind to NBA fashion. It was the era of the short-lived fad of players King High top shoes, oversized suits, and, perhaps most egregiously, ugly sweaters.
Yes, that’s right: for a brief period in the 1990s, it was actually considered stylish for NBA players to suit up in hideous sweaters. We’re not sure what they were thinking, but we’re glad those days are long behind us.

10. The Charlotte Hornets’ Mothra Sweater
We’re not sure what was going on with the Charlotte Hornets in the mid-1990s, but they seems to have been really into giant insects. After trotting out these “mothra” jerseys for a couple of seasons, the Hornets would later introduce a similarly styled “stinger” alternate that made them look like a D-League team
