The Richmond Spiders Starting Lineup
The Richmond Spiders are set to have an exciting Basketball season and here is a look at the starting lineup
PG- Kendall Anthony- Entering his senior season, Kendall is the leader of this team. He is a great scorer and an even better passer. With his experience, he will be looked to not only score, but also to help mentor the younger guys on the team.
SG- Trey Davis- As a junior, Trey has really developed into a go-to scorer for this team. His three point shooting has been key in many games and he has the ability to take over a game offensively when needed.
SF- Alonzo Nelson-Ododa- Alonzo is a freshman that has made an immediate impact on this team. He is long and athletic and provides a great presence on both ends of the court. His versatility makes him a very Valuable Player for the Spiders.
PF- Terry Larrier- A sophomore transfer from Virginia Commonwealth, Terry has quickly become one of the best players on the team. He is able to score inside and out and is also a good rebounder. His all around game will be key for the Spiders this season.
C- Francis Crossin- Francis is a big body in the paint that provides a physical presence for the Spiders. He uses his size well down low and is also a good shot blocker. His defense will be key for Richmond this season as they look to make some noise in the Conference Standings
The Richmond Spiders Bench Players
The Richmond Spiders have a deep bench this season, with a Number of players who could see significant playing time Here’s a look at the bench players who will be suiting up for the Spiders this season:
-Garrison Brooks: A 6’7″ forward from Douglass, Virginia, Brooks is a versatile player who can play both inside and out. He’s a good rebounder and shot blocker, and has the ability to hit the three-pointer.
-Andre Hinds: A 6’2″ guard from Queens, New York, Hinds is a pure shooter with unlimited range. He’s a streaky scorer who can get hot from beyond the arc, and is also a solid defender.
-Lamont West: A 6’8″ forward from Baltimore, Maryland, West is an excellent athlete who can run the floor and finish above the rim. He’s still developing his offensive game, but has the potential to be a real difference maker on the defensive end of the court.

The Richmond Spiders Coaching Staff is led by Head Coach Chris Mooney and assistant coaches Anthony Solomon, Rusty Philips, and Kevin Norris The team will also have a new director of operations, Justin Williams.
The Richmond Spiders Schedule
The Richmond Spiders will tip-off their 2019-20 season at home against the University of California on November 5th. The Spiders will then play two more games at home, against North Carolina A&T on November 8th and Norfolk State on November 12th, before going on the road for their first road game of the season against Old Dominion on November 15th. The Spiders will play a total of four games in the month of November, with two at home and two on the road.
In December, the Spiders will have a total of five games, three of which will be at home. The Spiders will open up December at home against James Madison on December 3rd, followed by a road game against William & Mary on December 7th. The Spiders will then return home for three straight games, against Rider on December 14th, Norfolk State on December 21st, and Morgan State on December 28th.
TheSpiders wil play two games in January, both of which will be at home. The first game is against Duquesne on January 4th, followed by a matchup against George Mason on January 11th.
February will see the Spiders playing four games, two at home and two away. The Spiders will start the month off with consecutive games at home against Davidson on February 1st and St. Bonaventure on February 8th. Richmond will then hit the road for back-to-back games, first playing VCU on February 15th and then Fordham on February 22nd.
The month of March will be a busy one for the spiders as they have six games scheduled during that month. Richmond starts off March with a three game homestand with St. Joseph’s coming to town on March 1st followed by La Salleon March 5th and then Daytonon March 8th. After that homestand Richmond hits the road to take George Washingtonon March 12 before returning home again to end regular season play with Rhode IslandonMarch 14 and FordhamonMarch 17.

The Richmond Spiders NCAA tournament History
The Richmond Spiders are a men’s Basketball team representing the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. The Spiders compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference and are currently coached by Chris Mooney. The Spiders last played in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2011, where they defeated Morehead State in the first round before losing to Florida State in the second round.
The Richmond Spiders Notable Alumni
The Richmond Spiders have had many Great players come through their program. Some notable alumni include:
-David Wesley: played for the Spiders from 1989 to 1992. He was a two-time All-American and is the school’s All-time leading scorer with 2,290 points.
-Johnny Newman: played for the Spiders from 1985 to 1988. He was a two-time All-American and is the school’s all-time leading rebounder with 1,217 rebounds.
-Darien Nelson-Henry: played for the Spiders from 2007 to 2010. He was an All-American in 2010 and is the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots with 247.
