Upper Perkiomen Basketball – Your Guide to the Season

Upper Perkiomen High School is home to one of the top boys basketball teams in the state of Pennsylvania. The team is led by Head Coach Doug Snyder and Assistant Coach Pete Moses. The team plays its home games at the Upper Perkiomen middle school Gymnasium.

The squad is composed of 12 players, including 3 seniors, 4 juniors, 3 sophomores, and 2 freshmen. The team is captained by seniors Ryan Neiswender and Matt Kregling.

The Upper Perkiomen basketball team has a long tradition of success, dating back to the early 1950s. The program has produced numerous Division I and II college players, as well as several professional players.

The Team

The Upper Perkiomen high school Varsity Basketball team is made up of 11 hardworking young men who love the game and are determined to make this season a success. The team is coached by Mr. Steve Jones, who has been with the program for 3 years. He is assisted by Coach Doug Landis.

The Schedule

7th and 8th grade boys – December 3, 2018 through February 8, 2019
games are on Thursdays at 4pm and Saturdays at 10am
9th and 10th grade boys – November 30, 2018 through February 9, 2019
games are on Mondays at 4pm and Saturdays at noon

The Fans

The best part about Upper Perk basketball is the fans. They are some of the most loyal and passionate fans in the area. They love their team and are always there to support them. Even when the team is struggling, the fans are still there cheering them on.

The Rivalries

Upper Perkiomen is no stranger to basketball rivalries. Every year, the team looks forward to playing against their biggest rivals, such as Owen J. Roberts, Spring-Ford, and Phoenixville. These are the games that everyone gets excited for, and the atmosphere is always electric.

This year, the team is looking forward to playing against Owen J. Roberts on December 12th and Phoenixville on February 6th. These are always two of the most competitive games of the season, and the Upper Perkiomen community always comes out in full force to support their team.

The History

Upper Perkiomen high school is located in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, in Upper Montgomery County. The school serves the Upper Perkiomen Valley which includes the boroughs of East Greenville, Red Hill, and Pennsburg, and the townships of Upper Hanover, Marlborough, and Upper Milford. The school’s Basketball Program is one of the most storied in Pennsylvania high school Basketball History

The Traditions

The Upper Perkiomen high school Basketball team has a rich tradition dating back to the early 1900s. The team has won numerous district championships and has produced several Division I and NBA players The team is currently coached by Jason Roth and consists of 12 players. The team plays its home games in the Upper Perkiomen middle school gymnasium.

The Coaches

The Upper Perkiomen varsity basketball team is coached by RobMelosky and his assistant, Alex O’Neill. Coach Melosky has been at the helm of the team for 4 years, and in that time has led the team to 3 league championships and 2 district championships. Under his guidance, the team has an overall record of 98-22.

Assistant coach Alex O’Neill is in his first year with the team, but he is no stranger to basketball. O’Neill played Division I Basketball at La Salle University and then went on to play professionally in Portugal and Argentina. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team that will no doubt be a valuable asset.

The Future

The Upper Perkiomen Basketball Program is on the rise.

The varsity team has seen great success in recent years culminating in a trip to the state playoffs in 2017. The team is young and talented, with a promising future.

The Junior varsity and freshman teams have also seen success, and are developing players for the varsity team.
