The Rams are led by a core of experienced upperclassmen, including slugging first baseman Jordan Luplow and hard-throwing right-hander Tyler Gilbert Luplow is a four-year starter who has hit over .300 in each of his three seasons at Fresno City, while Gilbert has been one of the team’s top pitchers for the past two years.
Fresno City also has another asset in Head Coach Eric Golston. Golston took over the program in 2016 and has led the Rams to back-to-back 30-win seasons. Under his guidance, Fresno City has become one of the top Community College programs in California.
With its mix of experienced veterans and promising young players Fresno City looks like a team that could make some noise in 2019.

The Fresno City baseball team has been on a roll since their season started a few weeks ago. They have already won several games and show no signs of slowing down. coach John Smith says that the team’s success is due to the hard work and dedication of each player.
“Every day, these guys come out here and give it their all,” Coach Smith said. “They really want to win, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.”

-Brandon Miller: A freshman from Clovis North High School Miller is an up-and-coming star at shortstop. He has great range and a strong arm. He’s also a skilled hitter with gap power.
Outfielders
-Cole Johnson: A sophomore transfer from College of the Sequoias, Johnson is a rangy outfielder with a strong arm. He’s a disciplined hitter with surprising power for his size.
-Andrew Alvarez: A freshman from Buchanan high school Alvarez is a speedy outfielder with good instincts in the field. He’s also a contact hitter with occasional power.
Pitchers
-Tyler Shreve: A sophomore transfer from Cuesta College Shreve is a hard-throwing right-hander that reaches 96 mph on his fastball. He also has a plus slider and an emerging changeup. Shreve will be the Rams’ ace this season.
-Matt Timms: A freshman from Clovis high school Timms is a tall left-hander with good velocity on his fastball and an advanced feel for pitching. He projects as a middle-of-the-rotation starter for the Rams.
