The franchise remained under Dodger ownership until 2000 when they were sold to Mandalay Entertainment Group and became known as the Mandalay Bay Sharks.

In 2005, Mandalay sold the team to Elmore Sports Group who then renamed them Corpus Christi Hooks after a local seafood restaurant chain. The Hooks were then sold to callerID Corporation in 2007 who then changed their name to the Corpus Christi callerID’s. However, due to legal reasons they were unable to use that name for long and so reverted back to being called the Corpus Christi Hooks in 2008. The current owner ofthe franchise is Lou Garner’s Bahama Breeze Island Grille Corporation who purchased them in 2011.
