With Spring comes the sound of a bat hitting a ball, the smell of fresh-cut grass, and the return of High School sports. One of Kentucky’s most popular high school sports is baseball.
There is a lot of talent in the Bluegrass state when it comes to high school baseball In fact, ten Kentucky High schools are ranked in the top 500 in the nation by MaxPreps.
So if you’re looking for a good game to watch this Spring, here are the top 10 Kentucky High school baseball teams, according to MaxPreps.
Number 1: Owensboro Catholic High School
Owensboro Catholic high school is ranked number 1 in the state of Kentucky for High School Baseball teams. The school has an incredible baseball program with a strong focus on player development and a commitment to excellence. The team has won numerous State Championships and has produced many Major League Baseball players.
Number 2: South Warren High School
The South Warren high school baseball team is ranked number 2 in the state of Kentucky. The team is led bypitcher Jackson Leigh, who has a 0.69 ERA and has struck out 84 batters in just 49 innings pitched this season. Leigh is also a threat at the plate, batting .327 with 4 home runs and 28 RBIs. St. Xavier High School is ranked number 5 in the state of Kentucky for high school baseball teams. The school is located in Louisville and has an enrollment of just over 1,000 students in grades 9-12. The school’s team colors are purple and gold and their mascot is the Tiger.

He is a senior who has been on the varsity team for three years. He has good control and can really hit his spots. He also has a lot of experience pitching in big games.
