LLCC Baseball: A team on the Rise
When it comes to Collegiate Baseball Lincoln Land Community College is a team on the rise.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Derek Van Vleet, the LLCC Loggers have made tremendous strides in recent years culminating in a historic 2019 season in which the team won a school-record 37 games and qualified for the National junior college Athletic Association Division III World Series
With a core group of talented returning players and some key new additions, the 2020 LLCC baseball team is poised to build on last year’s success and take the program to an even higher level.
Led by All-American catcher Zane Lange, the Loggers will have one of the best lineups in Division III baseball Lange hit .429 with 12 home runs and 58 RBI last season and is widely regarded as one of the top catching prospects in junior college baseball
He will be joined in the lineup by fellow All-American infielder Jakob Newton, who hit .360 with 10 homers and 50 RBI last year. Newton is a slick-fielding shortstop who has already received interest from several Division I programs.
The Loggers also return two of their top starting pitchers from last season in right-hander Bryce Dyer and left-hander Connor Harmon. Dyer went 10-1 with a 2.48 ERA last year while Harmon was 9-2 with a 2.70 ERA. Both pitchers are expected to be among the best in Division III this season.
With its wealth of talent, LLCC is primed for another deep run in the postseason this year. The sky is the limit for this growing program – don’t miss your chance to catch them in action!
