Early Life and Career
Mason Williams was born on August 9, 1991, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 4th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft out of West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. Williams made his professional debut that same year with the Staten Island Yankees of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League. In 2011, he played for the Charleston RiverDogs of the Class A South Atlantic League and Tampa Yankees of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League.
Williams began the 2012 season with Tampa and was promoted to the Trenton Thunder of the Class AA Eastern League during the season. He spent the 2013 season with Trenton. Williams began the 2014 season back with Trenton, and after batting .298/.346/.494 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs in 66 games, he was promoted to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders of the Class AAA National League on July 2. Williams had a successful minor league career, but he has yet to play in a Major League game.

The Call-Up

But there he was, rounding the bases and being congratulated by his teammates after hitting a homerun in front of thousands of fans. It was a dream come true for the young player and it’s something that he’ll never forget.

On June 6, 2016, Mason Williams made his Major League debut with the New York Yankees In his first at-bat, he singled to left field off Chris Archer of the Tampa Bay Rays The hit drove in Brian McCann from second base, giving the Yankees a 2-1 lead. The Yankees went on to win the game, 4-1.
Williams’ First Start
Mason Williams made his professional baseball debut on April 5, 2013, starting in right field for the Charleston RiverDogs. It was a momentous occasion for the young player, who had worked his whole life to make it to that point.
The game did not go well for Williams, however. He went 0-for-4 at the plate and made two errors in the field. After the game, he was visibly disappointed, but he vowed to keep working hard and to make the most of every opportunity he was given.
Despite his rough start, Williams went on to have a successful career in professional baseball He is now a member of the New York Yankees organization and is considered one of the top prospects in the game.

On May 9, 2019, Williams got his first win in a 10-3 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays.

On June 6, 2018, Williams notched his first Major League save against the New York Mets The game was scoreless going into the ninth inning and with two outs and a runner on second base, Williams came in to get the final out of the game.
