RHP Ronald Bautista ( Mets’ No. 26 prospect) was traded to the Cardinals on Monday in exchange for RHP Mike Mayers.

The Brewers announced Tuesday that they have agreed to terms with top 2019 draft pick Ethan Small on a minor league contract. Small, a left-handed pitcher from Mississippi State was selected 28th overall in the first round of the Draft.

The Astros reassigned RHP Cristian Javier (No. 3 prospect) and C Garrett Stubbs (No. 15) to Minor League camp on Tuesday morning.

There have been a number of recent transactions involving players in the minor leagues. Here are some of the most notable moves:

The Boston Red Sox have promoted infielder Tzu-Wei Lin to their Triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox Lin was one of the Red Sox’s top prospects and he is expected to see time in the majors this season.

The Cleveland Indians have announced that they have signed pitcher Corey Kluber to a Minor League contract. Kluber, who won the Cy Young Award in 2014, was released by the Texas Rangers earlier this month. He will report to Triple-A Columbus.

The Detroit Tigers have optioned outfielder Christin Stewart to Triple-A Toledo. Stewart was one of the Tigers’ top prospects but he struggled in his limited time in the majors last season.

The New York Yankees have recalled infielder Tyler Wade from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Wade will take the place of injured infielder Troy Tulowitzki on the Yankees’ roster.

-The New York Yankees are said to be high on outfielder Clint Frazier, who is currently playing for their Triple-A affiliate, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders Frazier is batting .262 with 13 home runs and 36 RBIs in 57 games for the RailRiders this season.

-The Chicago Cubs are reportedly interested in left-handed pitcher Justus Sheffield, who is currently with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs Sheffield has a 3.59 ERA in 17 starts for Iowa this season.

-The Minnesota Twins are said to be keeping an eye on right-handed pitcher Fernando Romero, who is pitching for their Triple-A affiliate, the Rochester Red Wings Romero has a 2.74 ERA in 14 starts for Rochester this season.

We’re a little over a month into the 2021 Minor League Baseball season, and there have been plenty of great performances from players around the league. Here are some of the best players in the minors so far this season, according to our power rankings

1. Jarred Kelenic, OF, Seattle Mariners
Kelenic is one of the top prospects in baseball, and he’s lived up to the hype so far in his first taste of Triple-A. The 21-year-old is hitting .340/.431/.660 with six home runs in 28 games for the Tacoma Rainiers. He’s already shown he can hit for average and power, and he’s also stolen four bases. Kelenic is one of the future stars of baseball, and he could be playing in Seattle as early as this summer.

2. Alec Bohm, 3B, Philadelphia Phillies
Bohm was one of the top prospects in baseball entering this season, and he’s done nothing but hit since being called up to Triple-A. In 27 games for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Bohm is hitting .333/.389/.543 with four home runs and 18 RBIs. He’s also stolen three bases. Bohm is blocked at third base by Jean Segura in Philadelphia, but he could be an option at first base or in left field if he continues to hit like this.

3. Bobby Dalbec, 1B/3B/OF, Boston Red Sox
Dalbec made his Major League debut last year and showed some promise, but he’s really taken his game to another level this season at Triple-A Pawtucket. In 28 games, Dalbec is hitting .273/.368/.659 with 10 home runs and 24 RBIs. He’s also stolen two bases. Dalbec has played all three field positions and both corner infield spots this season, so his versatility will be a plus when he eventually gets called up to Boston.

4. Nate Lowe, 1B/DH, Tampa Bay Rays
Lowe was acquired by the Rays from the Twins last year and had a solid rookie season, hitting .233/.324/.452 with 11 home runs in 49 games. He’s continued to swing a hot bat this year at Triple-A Durham, hitting .329/.413/.667 with eight home runs in 26 games. Lowe will likely be used as a DH or bench player when he returns to Tampa Bay but his bat will certainly play well at the Major League level.
