Northshore Baseball is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing children and young adults on the Northshore of Sydney with the opportunity to participate in baseball.

We are an inclusive organisation, with programs for children of all abilities, from T-Ball to senior league Our programs cater for both recreational and competitive players, with something for everyone.

The Northshore baseball league is a semi-Professional Baseball League that was founded in 1992. The league consists of teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The Northshore Baseball League is the only league of its kind in the Midwest and is one of the few semi-professional baseball leagues in the country.

The Northshore baseball league began with four teams: the Kenosha Kings, the Racine Buccaneers, the Waukegan Suns, and the Lake County Stars. The league has since expanded to include eight teams: the Kenosha Kings, the Racine Buccaneers, the Waukegan Suns, the Lake County Stars, the Kane County Cougars, the Schaumburg Flyers, the Northwest Indiana Oilmen, and the Rockford RiverHawks.

The Northshore Baseball League is a member of the National Association of Professional baseball leagues (NAPBL) and is affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB). The league operates during the summer months from May to August.

The Northshore Baseball League is a unique opportunity for young athletes to compete in a semi-professional setting. The league is made up of players from all over the country who have been scouted and placed on teams based on their skill level. The league is divided into two divisions, the American and National, and each team plays a total of 81 games.

The season runs from June to August, with the playoffs taking place in September. The league uses Wooden bats and the games are played on Regulation sized ball fields. The Northshore Baseball League is affiliated with Major League Baseball and has a working relationship with several Major League teams.

It was founded in 2016 by serial entrepreneur and sports executive, Kevin Lahn. The NBL is made up of eight teams: four from Virginia, two from Maryland, one from Washington D.C., and one from Deleware.

The NBL’s primary mission is to provide affordable, competitive baseball for young adults ages 18-23 who have not yet had an opportunity to play at the collegiate or professional level. In order to achieve this mission, the NBL has adopted a “pay-to-play” model in which player salaries are directly funded by team and league sponsorships, as well as ticket sales and other revenue streams.

The NBL’s inaugural season will begin in May 2017.

No, there is no limit to the number of players that can be on a team roster. However, teams are only allowed to field a maximum of 10 players on the field at one time.

No, you do not need to be a resident of North Vancouver to play in the league. However, all games are played in North Vancouver (at Capilano University and Lynn Valley Park).
How long is the season?

What if I can’t commit to playing for the entire season?
We understand that life happens and that it’s not always possible to commit to playing for an entire season. As such, we offer a “pay-as-you-play” option for $30 CAD per game. You will still need to register for the season (to get your team shirt and hat), but you only pay for the games that you play. Please note that this option is only available for regular season games – not playoffs or championship games.
When and where are games played?
All games are played on weeknights (Monday – Thursday) at Capilano University (2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver) or Lynn Valley Park (1277 Lynnmour Rd, North Vancouver). Games start at 6:30pm sharp. Please arrive early so that you have time to warm up and stretch before your game starts

As someone who has been involved with the Northshore Baseball League (NSBL) for the past three years, I can say with confidence that it is one of the most unique and special places in all of baseball. Nestled in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, the league is made up of six teams from small towns across the region: The Wausau Woodchucks, The Green Bay Booyah, The Appleton Legends, The Manitowoc Bandits, The Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders, and The Kenosha Kingfish.

What sets the NSBL apart from other baseball leagues is the intimate setting that each game is played in. Whether it is at historic Bosse Field in Evansville, WI or at Modern Woodmen Park in Dyersville, IA (made famous by the movie Field of Dreams), every ballpark has its own personality and charm. This is what makes NSBL games so special – you truly never know what you’re going to get.

Another thing that makes NSBL games special are the fans. Because most of the towns in the league are quite small, each team has a very tight-knit and supportive fan base. For example, my hometown team (The Wausau Woodchucks) have a group of dedicated fans who refer to themselves as “Chucktown maniacs” – they are always decked out in team gear and are always ready to cheer on their team!
