The Old Dominion University baseball team has announced their schedule for the 2022 season. The team will play a total of 56 games, 27 of which will be at home.

The Old Dominion University baseball team announced their schedule for the 2022 season today. The season will begin on February 18th with a three-game series against the University of Richmond and will end on May 28th with a three-game series against Marshall University The Monarchs will play a total of 56 games, 29 of which will be at home at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.
“We are excited to announce our schedule for the 2022 season,” said Head Coach Chris Finwood. “We have put together a challenging schedule that will prepare us for conference play and beyond. We can’t wait to get started.”
The Monarchs will face off against 13 teams that made the NCAA tournament last year, including five teams that made it to the College World Series ODU will also participate in the annual Pigeon Forge Invitational, which features some of the top collegiate baseball teams from across the country.
Out-of-Conference Schedule
Odu Baseball has announced their out-of-Conference Schedule for the 2022 season. The Monarchs will face off against some of the nation’s top programs including Vanderbilt, Clemson, and Florida State They will also participate in the Myrtle Beach Invitational where they will take on Liberty, UNC-Wilmington, and Virginia Tech
Conference Schedule
The Old Dominion University Baseball Team announced their Conference USA schedule for the 2022 season on Wednesday afternoon. The Monarchs will play a total of 36 games, with 18 being played at home at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex and 18 being played on the road. ODU will open up the season on February 17th with a three-game series against conference foe Marshall.
ODU’s home opener will be on March 3rd against another conference opponent, Charlotte. The Monarchs will also host conference foes Florida Atlantic (March 24-26), Southern Miss (April 14-16) and UAB (May 5-7) at the Bud during the 2022 season.
In non-conference action, ODU will host VMI (February 21-23), Richmond (March 10-12), James Madison (March 31-April 2) and Norfolk State (April 25-27). The Monarchs will also travel to George Mason (February 28-March 2), VCU (April 4), Longwood (April 20) and William & Mary (May 18).
The Conference USA Baseball Tournament is scheduled to return to Biloxi, Mississippi from May 25-29.
Home Games
The Old Dominion University baseball team has announced its home games for the 2022 season. The Monarchs will play a total of 30 games at the Bud Metheny Complex, including 17 Conference USA contests.
This will be the first time since the 2016 season that ODU has hosted that many home games The Monarchs are coming off a 2020 campaign in which they went 24-26 overall and 12-12 in league play.
ODU will open the home portion of its schedule on February 25th with a three-game series against Campbell. The Monarchs will also host George Mason (March 4-6), Richmond (March 18-20), Norfolk State (April 1-3), James Madison (April 12-14), William & Mary (April 29-May 1), and UNC Wilmington (May 13-15).
Conference opponents coming to Norfolk will be Florida Atlantic (March 25-27), UAB (April 8-10), Rice (April 15-17), Charlotte (April 22-24), Florida International (May 6-8), Marshall (May 20-22), and Middle Tennessee (May 27-29).

Key Games
The Old Dominion University Baseball Team announced the addition of seven games to their 2022 schedule. The newly added games include contests against Maryland, Clemson, East Carolina VCU, Richmond, William & Mary, and George Mason
“We are excited to add these key games to our schedule,” said head coach John Szefc. “These are the type of matchups that will not only prepare us for conference play but also for a potential postseason run.”
The Monarch’s first game of the season is scheduled for February 18th on the road against Clemson.
Promotions
The Old Dominion University baseball team released their 2022 schedule on Wednesday morning, which includes 30 home games and features several promotional nights.
Headlining the promotional schedule is Dollar Dog Night, which will take place on Tuesday, April 12th when the Monarchs host in-state rival Norfolk State All hot dogs will be just one dollar at the game.
ODU will also host eight Fireworks Nights, presented by GEICO. The first of those nights will be on Saturday, May 28th when the Monarchs take on Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) foe UNC Wilmington. The complete schedule is below.
