The Players

Wofford Baseball’s roster is full of talent across the board, with a great mix of youth and experience. The team is led by Seniors Austin McCullough, Will Grier, and Drew Ellis All three have been key contributors throughout their time at Wofford and will look to finish their careers strong. They are joined by a large group of talented underclassmen, including Sophomores Reid Hardwick and Peyton Kelton, who both saw significant time last season. The team will also be bolstered by the addition of Freshmen Chris Lanza, who was highly touted coming out of High School and Jack levels. With such a deep and talented roster, Wofford is poised for a great season.

Ford Baseball is coached by Dick Cooke, who is entering his 27th season as Head Coach Cooke has guided Wofford to 12 NCAA tournament appearances, including five in the last six seasons. Associate head coach Nate Ardaman is in his 13th season with the Terriers and his 26th year coaching overall. Pitching coach Mark Spivey enters his third season with Wofford and his 18th as a College Coach Volunteer Assistant Coach Nick Lowery is in his first season with the Terriers.

The Schedule

The Wofford Terriers baseball team is off to a great start this season. The team’s roster is full of talent, and the schedule is challenging. The Terriers have already faced some of the best teams in the country, and they have come out on top. The team’s next game is against the Clemson Tigers who are ranked fifth in the nation. The Terriers are looking forward to the challenge, and they are confident that they can continue their winning ways.

The Record

The Wofford College Terriers baseball team is off to a hot start this season. The team has a record of 8-1, with their only loss coming against the University of South Carolina The Terriers are led by senior catcher Garrett Morgan, who is batting .500 with two home runs and eight RBIs. Morgan is one of four seniors on the team, and he is joined by three juniors and six sophomores. The pitching staff is anchored by junior right-hander Will Grier, who has a 1.35 ERA in 13 innings pitched Grier has struck out 17 batters and has only walked three. The team’s closer is sophomore left-hander Barrett Krauss, who has two saves in three appearances.

The Facilities

The Terriers play their home games at Russell C. King Field, which opened in 2002. The field is named in honor of former Wofford Head Coach and administrator Russell C. King, who served the school for more than 50 years. The facility seats 1,500 and features a state-of-the-art press box, locker rooms bullpens and team offices. In 2013, a new lighting system was installed, making it one of the top collegiate baseball facilities in the Southeast.

The Conference

The Terriers will open the season on Feb. 15 against Seton Hall at Russell C. King Field at Terry Field. Wofford will play its first 14 games at home before opening Southern conference play on March 8-10 at Furman. The Paladins are the only team in the league that Wofford will not face in the regular season home-and-home series

The Post-Season

The Terriers are heading into the post-season with a full roster of talented players. From pitchers to catchers, infielders to outfielders, the team is stacked with potential. Wofford is looking to make a run at the title and they have the talent to do it.
