The history of Affton Hockey and its success

Affton Hockey is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that has been serving the Affton community since 1959. The organization is dedicated to promoting the sport of hockey and developing athletes of all ages. Affton Hockey is a member of the Mid-States Hockey Association and offers programs for players of all ages and abilities.

The Affton Hockey program started with just eight players on one team. Today, the program has over 500 players on 25 teams, making it one of the largest youth hockey programs in the state of Missouri. The success of the program can be attributed to the dedication of the volunteers, the support of the community, and the commitment of the players and families.

Affton Hockey is proud to have produced many successful players, including former St. Louis Blues captain David Backes and current NHL player TJ Oshie. The program also offers opportunities for players to compete at the High School level, with several teams competing in the Missouri high school hockey League.
