The 2017-2018 Aggie basketball roster is full of talented young men who are ready to take the court and compete. Get to know the players who will be representing Texas A&M University this season.

The 2017-2018 Basketball season is just around the corner, and fans are eager to see how the Aggies will fare. Head Coach Billy Kennedy has put together an impressive roster, and there are many talented players to watch this year. Here is a quick introduction to the team.

Tyler Davis

Tyler Davis is a 6-foot-10, 244-pound sophomore center from Houston, TX. He was rated a four-star recruit by ESPN and ranked as the No. 37 player in the nation. As a freshman, Davis averaged 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 60.4 percent from the field. He was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team and earned SEC All-Tournament honors after averaging 15 points and 6.5 rebounds in three games.

D.J. Hogg

D.J. Hogg is a 6-foot-9, 215-pound small forward from Rosenberg, Texas. He is a former five-star recruit who was ranked as the No. 22 player in the nation in the Class of 2016 by ESPN. Hogg was a McDonald’s All-American as a senior in High School and he led his team to the state semifinals. Hogg averaged 13.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a freshman at Texas A&M last season.

Admon Gilder

Admon Gilder (5) is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound shooting guard from Dallas, Texas. He averaged 13.7 points and 2.6 assists per game as a sophomore last season.

J.J. Caldwell

Junior guard J.J. Caldwell was a key player for the Aggies last season, averaging 12.3 points, 4.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game. He was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-SEC selection. Caldwell will be looked to as a leader for the team again this season as they look to make a run at the NCAA tournament

T.J. Starks

T.J. Starks is a 6’2″ freshman guard from Lancaster, Texas. He was a four-star recruit according to ESPN and is ranked as the 63rd best player in the country for the class of 2017. He chose Texas A&M over offers from Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma State and TCU. He averaged 27 points, eight assists, and six rebounds per game as a senior in high school

Robert Williams

Robert Williams (born October 17, 1997) is an American college basketball player for the Texas A&M Aggies of the Eastern Conference (SEC). Listed at 6’9″, 240 pounds, he plays the center position. Williams was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the best players in the high school class of 2016. He played his freshman season for the Aggies in 2016–17 and helped lead them to a share of the SEC regular season championship. He earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors and was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times.

Duane Wilson

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 190 pounds, Duane Wilson is a senior guard on the Texas A&M basketball team He is a Chicago native and attended Dominican high school Wilson played two seasons at Marquette before transferring to Texas A&M. He has been a key player for the Aggies, averaging 9.8 points and 3 assists per game

Savion Flagg

Aggies savor sweet victory in season opener

Head coach Billy Kennedy has led the team to a great start this season, and the fans are loving it. One of the players that is helping lead the charge is sophomore Savion Flagg. The 6-foot-7 forward from Texas is averaging 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game so far this season. He is also shooting an impressive 50% from the field. Keep an eye on Savion Flagg as he looks to help lead the Aggies to a successful season

Zachary Simmons

Zachary Simmons is a 6-foot-10, 230-pound center from Dallas, Texas. He played his high school basketball at Lincoln high school where he was a three-star recruit according to 247Sports. Simmons averaged 12.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game as a senior. He was named honorable mention all-state by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and was an all-district selection.
