Angie Watson is a star basketball player who was born on September 12, 1995, in Gary, Indiana. Gary is a tough, blue-collar town and basketball is king. At an early age, Angie showed great promise as a basketball player She played on an all-girls AAU team and quickly became one of the best players in the area. By the time she was in High School she was one of the top recruits in the country and was being recruited by some of the top college programs in the country.
Angie decided to stay close to home and attend Purdue University She had an immediate impact on the court, starting all four years and becoming one of the best players in school history. She helped lead Purdue to four straight NCAA tournament appearances, including a trip to the Elite Eight her senior year. She finished her career as Purdue’s all-time leader in points (2,482), rebounds (1,258), and steals (406). She was a two-time All-American and was named Big Ten Player of the Year her senior year.
After graduation, Angie was drafted by the Indiana Fever with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft She has quickly become one of the best players in the league and was named an All-Star for the first time in 2019.
