The Atlanta Mens Baseball League FAQ

The Atlanta Mens Baseball League (AMBL) is a wood bat only Baseball League for amateur/adult/semi-professional players. The league plays a 28 game schedule from late May until mid August. All games are seven innings and are played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at varied times. An end of season tournament is held to determine the playoff teams.

What is the eligibility to play in the league? Any male over 18 years of age is eligible to play in the AMBL. Proof of age (driver’s license or passport) must be submitted with your application and registration fee.

Where do the games take place? All games are played at ballparkson the north side of Atlanta. Currently, we have four parks in our league: Glenn Hilliard, McClaren, Riverside, and Wrigley Fields.

What is the application and registration process? The first step is to complete an online application which will put you into the player pool. A $35 non-refundable fee must be paid at the time of registration in order for your application to be processed. You will only need to register once as your information will remain in our system from year to year unless you request for it to be removed. After your application has been processed, you will be placed on a team by our player development Director and given further instructions by your team manager on what you need to do next which includes attending a mandatory pre-season meeting and paying your team dues which covers umpires fees, field maintenance & lights, baseballs, insurance, etc.

Is there a try-out? No, there is not a try-out process for this league; however all new players must attend a mandatory pre-season meeting where evaluations will take place along with draft picks for new players not currently on a roster. The player development Director & Board Members will run drills during this 1-2 hour session in order to assess skill level in order to balanced teams as much as possible. While we cannot guarantee that every player who attends this meeting will be placed on a team, those who do not attend have NO chance of being drafted onto a roster
