Scores

The Arizona Wildcats Baseball Team represents the University of Arizona in NCAA Division I college baseball The Wildcats compete in the Pac-12 Conference. The team is currently coached by Jay Johnson

The Wildcats play their home games at Hi Corbett Field, located just south of campus. The field, which opened in 1926 and has a capacity of 4,916 fans, was renovated prior to the 2018 season.

In 2019, the Wildcats finished the season with a 27–28 overall record and a 10–20 conference record. They failed to qualify for the NCAA tournament

Highlights

The Arizona Wildcats baseball team is off to a great start this season, with a record of 10-2. Here are some highlights from their recent games:

In a 12-4 victory against the University of New Mexico, the Wildcats hit five home runs including two by first baseman JJ Matijevic.

Starting pitcher Alec Marsh had a great outing against UC Irvine, throwing seven innings of shutout ball and striking out eight batters. The Wildcats won that game 3-0.

Outfielder Jared Oliva had a big game against UTSA, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored The Wildcats won that game 10-5.

Game Recaps

The Arizona Wildcats finished their 2020 season with a disappointing record of 12-15. However, there were some bright spots on the team, including first baseman Alfonso Rivas and pitcher Ryan Christenson. Here are the scores and highlights from each of the Wildcats’ 27 games this season.

March 3: The Wildcats started their season on a high note, defeating the University of Texas Longhorns 9-3 in Austin. Rivas went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Christenson picked up the win on the mound, pitching seven innings of one-run ball.

March 10: Arizona suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the Stanford Cardinal 8-5 in Palo Alto Rivas had another strong game, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

March 13: The Wildcats rallied to beat the UC Irvine Anteaters 9-8 in 10 innings in Irvine. After blowing an 8-5 lead in the ninth inning Arizona scored twice in the top of the 10th to win it. Christenson got credit for the win after pitching two scoreless innings of relief.

The Wildcats are currently coached by Jay Johnson The Wildcats have appeared in five College World Series and won the National Championship in 2012.

The UA baseball program was founded in 1889, making it the first sport at the University of Arizona and predating the football program by two years. The first game was played against Tucson High School on March 20, 1889, with Tucson winning 6-0. In 1900, the team moved to Vancouver, Washington, to play against Pacific Northwest teams. After appearing in three World Series and winning one championship, the team returned to Tucson in 1928 to stay permanently.

The Arizona Wildcats Baseball Team is currently ranked #1 in the nation. The team is led by Head Coach Andy Lopez who has been with the team since 2013. The team is made up of 28 players, including six seniors. The Wildcats have won two NCAA Division I Baseball Championships in 2012 and 2016.

Some of the team’s recent accomplishments include winning the Pac-12 conference championship in 2017 and 2018, and making it to the College World Series in 2016 and 2017.

The Wildcats are currently in the midst of their 2019 season. Some of their Key Players this year include pitcher Cameron Ming, who was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after throwing a complete game shutout against USC on March 8th; outfielder Alfonso Rivas, who was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on March 11th after hitting .667 with four RBIs in a win over UCLA; and first baseman Trevor Hauver, who leads the team with a .373 batting average

Prospects

The Arizona Wildcats have a long history of producing top-notch baseball players and this year is no different. Here are some of the team’s top prospects

· Shortstop Andres Quintero is one of the biggest names on the team. He’s a junior who was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft

· Outfielder Robert Molina is another junior who was drafted, this time by the Cincinnati Reds in the fifth round.

· Right-hander Alejandro Melean is a senior who signed with the Miami Marlins as an undrafted free agent

Recruiting

The Arizona Wildcats Baseball team is a Division I college baseball team in the Pac-12 Conference. The team is currently coached by Jay Johnson The Wildcats play their home games at Hi Corbett Field, located in Tucson, Arizona.

The Wildcats have competed in the College World Series eighteen times, winning the National Championship in 2012 and finishing as runners-up in 1976 and 1980. Arizona has also won five Pac-12 conference championships most recently in 2016.

Alumni

The Arizona Wildcats have a long and illustrious history in college baseball dating back to their first season in 1889. The Wildcats have won 24 conference championships and made 26 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 20 consecutive appearances from 1986 to 2005. They have also produced a number of Major League Baseball stars, including World Series champion Curt Schilling and All-Star second baseman Brandon Drury.

The Arizona Wildcats baseball team is receiving some press for their recent success. The team is currently ranked number one in the nation and has won their last seventeen games. They are also the defending National Champions

The team’s pitching staff has been phenomenal, leading the nation in ERA and strikeouts. The offense has been no slouch either, ranking in the top ten in runs scored.

The Wildcats have won four games against ranked opponents so far this season and look poised to make a run at another national title.
