Barnstable Baseball is back season opener Recap
It’s been a long few months, but Barnstable Baseball is back in action. The season got underway last week with a Home game against Falmouth. The game was close early on, with Barnstable holding a slim lead through the first few innings. But Falmouth began to pull away in the late innings and ended up winning by a score of 10-5.
Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for Barnstable. First baseman Mikey Connor had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. pitcher Matt Brazal also had a solid outing, striking out six batters in six innings of work.
The team will look to Bounce Back from the season-opening loss this week as they hit the road for games against Sandwich and Bourne.
Barnstable Baseball is Back: home opener Recap
After a long off-season, Barnstable Baseball is finally back in action! The team started their season with a home opener against Sandwich on April 7.
The game was close throughout, with neither team giving up more than two runs in any inning. In the end, Barnstable came out on top, winning 4-3.
It was a great start to the season for Barnstable, and fans are already looking forward to the next home game on April 14 against Dennis-Yarmouth.
Barnstable Baseball is Back: A Look at the Schedule
The defending Cape Cod baseball league champions are set to begin their title defense on Saturday, June 1st on the road against the Bourne Braves. The Barnstable town baseball team will look to build off of their successful 2018 campaign in which they went 18-9-1 and won the West Division before defeating the Truro Bearcats in the Championship game Here is a look at their 2019 schedule:

June 5th vs. Harwich
June 6th @ Y-D
June 7th vs. Brewster

As you can see, the Barnstable Baseball Team has a very busy and challenging schedule ahead of them if they want to repeat as champs in 2019. Be sure to come out and support your local team this summer!
Barnstable Baseball is Back: A Look at the Roster
The Barnstable baseball team is back in action this season after a rebuild of the roster. Here’s a look at the new lineup:
Leading off and playing shortstop is senior captain Jack Murphy. Jack was a all-conference player last year and is one of the top hitters in the conference. He will be looked to provide leadership for the young team.
At second base is sophomore Matt Donovan. Matt is a switch hitter with good speed and defense. He will be counted on to set the table for the middle of the lineup.
In center field is freshman phenom Jake Fromcko. Jake was a highly touted recruit who turned down offers from Division I schools to play for Barnstable. He is an accomplished hitter and fielder and has already drawn comparisons to Major League All-Star Mike Trout
Rounding out the infield at third base is junior Chris Bartlett. Chris is a power hitter who missed most of last season with an injury. He will be looking to stay healthy and provide some pop in the lineup this season.
In left field is junior Mark Riley. Mark is a solid hitter with good speed and defense. He will look to build on his strong performance from last season as he takes on a bigger role this year.
Right field will be manned by senior captain Joe McDonough. Joe is a gifted athlete who also plays football and basketball for Barnstable. He will add some much needed power to the lineup this season as he looks to lead the team to victory..
Barnstable Baseball is Back: A Look at the Coaching Staff
Barnstable baseball is back in action for the first time since 2011, and the Coaching Staff is looking to make an impact.
Head coach John Jones is a native of Cape Cod and a graduate of Barnstable High School He has been coaching various levels of baseball for over 20 years, including stops at the collegiate and professional levels. Jones is joined by assistant coaches Mike Murphy and Steve Hardy.
Murphy, a former professional player and Barnstable High School alum, brings a wealth of experience to the team. Hardy, also a Barnstable high school alum, is new to coaching but brings enthusiasm and a love for the game.
The coaching staff has lofty goals for the team this season and is looking to instill a winning culture in the program. With a talented group of players, they are confident that they can compete with anyone in the league.

Barnstable baseball is back in action and the fans are excited! The team has been working hard to get the field ready for Opening Day and the fans are ready to cheer them on. Here’s a look at some of the people who will be in attendance:
-Tommy, who has been a season ticket holder for 10 years
-Mary, who is cheering on her husband who is pitching for the team
-John, who is excited to see his son play for the first time
-Sue, who is there to support her community
Barnstable Baseball is Back: A Look at the Ballpark
After a year off, Barnstable baseball is back in action! The team has been hard at work preparing for the season, and they’re ready to hit the diamond. We sat down with Head Coach Joe to get a behind-the-scenes look at the ballpark.
Joe took us on a tour of the facility, starting with the locker room “We want our players to feel comfortable here,” he said. “They can come in and change into their uniforms, hang out with their teammates, and just relax before the game.”
Next, we visited the dugout. “This is where the magic happens,” Joe said with a smile. “It’s where we make our game plans and where our players execute them.”
We also got a peek at the field itself. The grass was freshly cut and the infield was raked. “We take pride in keeping the field in Top Condition ” Joe said. “It’s important to us that our players have a good experience when they’re out here.”
Finally, we stopped by the concession stand “We’ve got all your favorite ballpark foods here,” Joe said. “hot dogs popcorn, ice cream…you name it, we’ve got it.”
Whether you’re a fan of baseball or not, there’s no denying that Barnstable has something special going on at their ballpark. Be sure to check it out this season!
Barnstable Baseball is Back: A Look at the History
Barnstable baseball is back in action this summer, and we’re taking a look at the history of the sport on Cape Cod Baseball has been a part of the Cape Cod community for over a hundred years, and it’s one of the most popular sports on the Cape.
The first Barnstable baseball team was formed in 1885, and the sport quickly gained popularity. In 1886, the Barnstable Base Ball Club was formed, and it became one of the most successful teams in the region. The team played its home games at Millbrook Park in Barnstable Village, and it was one of the first teams to use artificial lighting for night games
The Barnstable Base Ball Club continued to be successful into the early twentieth century, winning several championships. In 1918, the team won the Massachusetts state championship and in 1919, they won the New England Championship.
After a few decades of success, Barnstable baseball began to decline in popularity. In 1931, the Barnstable Base Ball Club disbanded, and there was no longer a team in Barnstable. Baseball would not return to Barnstable until 1954, when a group of local residents formed the Barnstable Twilight League.
The Twilight League was a semi-professional league that played its games at night. The league was made up of players from all over Cape Cod, and it was one of the most successful leagues on the Cape. The Twilight League continued to be successful into the 1960s, when it began to decline in popularity. In 1967, the Twilight League disbanded, and baseball would not return to Barnstable until 1984.
In 1984, a group of local residents formed the Barnstable D-Y Babe Ruth League. The D-Y Babe Ruth League is a youth baseball league that plays its games at Doran Park in West Yarmouth. The league is made up of players from all over Cape Cod, and it provides an opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills.
The D-Y Babe Ruth League has been successful since its inception, and it continues to grow in popularity each year. Over 300 Boys and Girls participate in the league each year, and it is one of the largest youth baseball leagues on Cape Cod. The D-Y Babe Ruth League has produced many Major League Baseball players over its history, including Frankie Rodriguez and Matt Clement.

After a few years of rebuilding, Barnstable Baseball is back in action and looking to the future. With a new coach at the helm and a fresh crop of players, the team is poised to make some noise in the Cape Cod baseball league this season. Here’s a look at what’s in store for Barnstable Baseball.
Barnstable Baseball is Back: A Look at the League
This year, the Barnstable Baseball League is back in action after a brief hiatus. The league consists of four teams: the Barnstable Red Sox the Cape Cod Crushers, the Falmouth Commodores, and the Plymouth Pilgrims.
Each team will play a total of 30 games over the course of the season, with 15 games at home and 15 games on the road. The League Championship will be determined by a playoff series between the top two teams in the standings.
So far, the season has been off to a great start! The Barnstable Red Sox are currently in first place with a record of 9-1, while the Plymouth Pilgrims are close behind with a record of 8-2. The Cape Cod Crushers and Falmouth Commodores are both also off to strong starts, with records of 7-3 and 6-4 respectively.
We caught up with Barnstable Red Sox manager John Henry to get his thoughts on the season so far:
“It’s great to see Barnstable baseball back in action,” Henry said. “The fans have really been supportive and it’s just been great to see everyone out here enjoying themselves.”
Henry also spoke about his team’s strong start to the season: “We’re just really clicking right now as a team. Everyone is contributing and we’re just playing some great baseball ”
