The Baylor Bears basketball team represents Baylor University in Waco, Texas, in NCAA Division I men’s basketball competition. The Bears compete in the Big 12 Conference. The team plays its home games in Ferrell Center and is currently coached by Scott Drew

Baylor Basketball began competing in 1904, winning their first conference championship in 1909. They joined the West Conference in 1915 and won 10 regular season conference championships and 11 conference tournament championships while the conference existed. When the SWC dissolved in 1996, Baylor was moved to the Big 12 Conference. They have won 5 regular season conference championships and 3 conference tournament championships since 1996.

Baylor Basketball Injuries

As the Baylor Bears Basketball season winds down, we take a look at the injuries that have plagued the team throughout the year.

For the Baylor Bears it has been a season of injuries. From losingstarting point guard Manu Lecomte to a hand injury in December, to backup forward Tristan Clark going down with a season-ending Knee Injury in January, to losing key reserve guard King McClure for several weeks with an ankle injury, the team has had to deal with a lot of adversity.

Despite all of the injuries, the Baylor Bears have managed to stay in the hunt for a spot in the NCAA tournament They currently sit at 19-12 (9-8 Big 12) and are projected to be a 10 seed in the tournament by most experts.

The Bears have been led by junior forward Terry Maston, who is averaging 18.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game on the season. Maston has been one of the few bright spots for Baylor this year and will be key if they want to make a run in the NCAA Tournament
