Ku Mens Basketball Schedule: What to Expect

The Jayhawks are set to take on some tough competition this season. Here’s a look at what to expect from the Kansas men’s Basketball Schedule

Introduction

The 2019-20 Kansas men’s Basketball Schedule was released on Wednesday morning and it is packed with big games and interesting challenges for the Jayhawks. Here’s a look at what to expect.

One of the first things that stands out is the lack of a true marquee non-conference game. In past years, Kansas has opened against teams like Michigan State Kentucky, Duke or UCLA. This year, the Jayhawks’ toughest non-league game will come on Dec. 8 against Stanford in Lawrence.

The Regular Season

The Regular Season
The Men’s basketball team will play their first game on November 10th against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The team’s regular season will end on March 3rd with a game against Wichita State University

The Conference Tournament

The conference tournament is the final tournament before the NCAA tournament and it is a single-elimination tournament. The teams that win their conference tournaments receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament

In order to be eligible to participate in the conference tournament a team must have played all of their regular season games against conference opponents and must have a winning record.

The conference tournament is typically held at a neutral site, meaning that neither team has a home court advantage The top seed in the conference will play the bottom seed and so on.

The Conference tournament is important because it gives teams a chance to improve their NCAA tournament seeding. The higher a team is seeded in the NCAA tournament the easier their road to the Final Four will be.

So far this season, the Ku Mens Basketball team has an overall record of 15-3 and they are 8-1 in conference play They are currently ranked #5 in the nation and they are the 2nd seed in the conference. Based on their current record and ranking, they will most likely receive a top 2 seed in the NCAA tournament However, if they lose early in the conference tournament they could potentially drop to a 3 or 4 seed.

The Ku Mens basketball team has five Regular Season games remaining before the Conference Tournament begins on March 10th.

The NCAA Tournament

The NCAA Tournament is the biggest event in college basketball Every year, 68 teams from across the country compete in a single-elimination tournament to determine the National Champion The tournament is divided into four regions, and each region has 16 teams. The teams are seeded from 1 to 16, with the best teams getting the higher seeds.

In the first round, the top four seeds in each region play against the bottom four seeds. The winners of those games move on to the second round, where they play against each other. The winners of the second round then advance to the Sweet Sixteen where they play against teams from other regions. The Elite Eight and Final Four are then played, with the last two teams standing playing for the National Championship

The off-season is an important time for the team to rest and recover, but it’s also a time to focus on individual and team development. Here’s what you can expect from the Jayhawks during the off-season:

The league typically runs from June to August, with games played throughout the country. Players will compete against each other in a round-robin format, with the top teams advancing to the playoffs.

The Pre-Season

The 2017-18 Kansas men’s Basketball Schedule has been released, and the Jayhawks will face some tough competition before the start of Big 12 play.

As always, Kansas will start the season with its annual exhibition game Emporia State The Jayhawks will then take on Louisiana in the first round of Rex Chapman Invitational. The Jayhawks will travel to Louisville for a marquee non-conference matchup against the Cardinals on Dec. 2. The game will be broadcast on ESPN’sBig Monday.

On Dec. 6, Kansas will host South Dakota for its final Home game of the pre-conference season. The Jayhawks then wrap up their pre-Conference Schedule with a tough road game at Nebraska on Dec. 10.

The Exhibition Season

The Exhibition Season is a great time to see the team play without the pressures of an official game. This is when the team can get a feel for how the new players fit in and start to gel as a unit. The games are also generally low-scoring affairs, which can be attributed to the fact that the players are still getting used to playing with each other.

The All-Star Game

The All-Star game is the annual exhibition game of the best players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The game was first played in 1951, and has been held every year since. It is usually played on the last Sunday in February.

This year, the All-Star Game will be held on Sunday, February 26th at Madison Square Garden in New York City The game will air live on TNT at 8:00 PM EST.

The All-Star Game is typically a high-scoring affair, as both teams are loaded with offensive talent. In recent years however, defense has become more of a focus, and the games have been more competitive as a result.

This year’s All-Star Game will feature some of the best players in the league, including Lebron James Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry Be sure to tune in for what promises to be an exciting match-up!

The NBA Draft

The NBA draft is an annual event in which the thirty teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) select new players. It is held every June. The draft order is determined by the previous season’s standings, with non-playoff teams selecting first. The Draft Lottery debuted in 1985, when it was used to determine the order of the first fourteen picks of the draft. In 2015, the lottery was expanded to include all fourteen non-playoff teams. The draft consists of two rounds of thirty picks each. These selections are widely advertised and dissected by sportswriters and fans alike.
