Team Captains

The Brown Field Hockey Team captains for the 2019-2020 season are seniors Ellie Coleman and Abby Frey. Coleman, from Rye, NY, has been a starter on the varsity squad since her freshman year and is currently the team’s leading scorer. Frey, from Greenwich, CT, joined the team as a walk-on her sophomore year and has developed into one of the team’s top midfielders.

Newcomers

The Brown Field hockey team is excited to welcome five newcomers to the squad this season.

Forwards India Fiore ’23, Mary Katherine Alden ’23, and Ella Malleck ’22 will look to make an immediate impact on the offensive end. In the midfield, Makenzie Shaughnessy ’23 and Maude Meggison ’22 will provide a boost to the team’s speed and skill.

The Bears are looking forward to a successful season with this talented group of newcomers leading the way.

Schedule

The 2019 regular season schedule was released on May 8, with the Eagles hosting seven of their opponents at Russell Street Field. The season opener is set for Friday, August 30, when BC travels toHappy Valley to face non-conference foe Penn State The home opener is slated for Sunday, September 8, when the Eagles entertain crosstown rival Northeastern.

Eagles’ fans will also have three opportunities to see BC take on Boston University at home, as the Terriers come to Conte Forum for tilts on October 5, November 2 and in the regular season finale on November 16.

Results

The 2019-2020 Brown Field Hockey team finished the season with an overall record of 12-6 and a conference record of 3-4. The team finished 5th in the Ivy League

Standings

The 2019-2020 Brown Field hockey season is winding down, and we wanted to take a moment to recap how our team has been doing.

We started off the season strong, with a 7-0 record in our first seven games. We then hit a bit of a rough patch, losing four out of our next five games. However, we managed to right the ship and finish the season on a high note, winning six of our last seven games.

Overall, we had a very Successful Season We finished with an overall record of 13-4-1 and were ranked 13th in the nation. We made it to the semifinals of the conference tournament and our leading scorer, sophomore striker Emma Dowd, was named First Team All-Ivy.

We’re already looking forward to next season and are confident that we can build on this year’s success.

Playoffs

The Brown field Hockey Team has released its roster for the 2019-2020 season. The team will be competing in the playoffs this year and is looking to make a run at the championship.
