-pitcher Tyler Brown is a senior who has been the team’s ace for the past two years. He throws a fastball that topped out at 96 mph last season, and he also has a very good curveball.
-catcher Josh Davis is a junior who is one of the best defensive catchers in the state. He also has a very strong arm, and he’s not afraid to use it.
-third baseman Alec Johnson is a junior who was one of the top hitters in the conference last year. He has a great eye for the strike zone and he hits for power too.

Rob Coons is the current Head Coach of the Centralia high school varsity baseball team. He is entering his sixth season as the Tigers’ skipper, and has compiled a 130-48 (.731) record during his tenure. Under Coons, the Tigers have won four Lewis & Clark Conference titles and made five trips to the State Tournament

The team’s schedule
The Centralia High School varsity Baseball team has been having an outstanding season and they are definitely a team to watch Their current record is 16-1, with their only loss coming early in the season to a very tough Hazelwood West team. They have since rebounded and won 16 straight games.
This string of victories includes victories over some of the best teams in the area such as Webster Groves, Eureka, Ladue, and Kirkwood. This team is not only winning games but they are doing so in dominant fashion averaging nearly 10 runs per game while only giving up 2.4 runs per game.
The team is led by their dynamic senior duo of pitcher EJ D:\Downloads\document (2).pdfpages
and shortstop Xavier Ruckert. EJ has been virtually unhittable all season long compiling a 8-0 record on the mound with a microscopic ERA of 0.36. Xavier has been just as good at the plate and in the field leading the team in batting average (.484), home runs (5), and stolen bases (9).
The rest of the lineup has been extremely solid as well averaging over 7 runs per game. The bottom third of the lineup has done a great job of getting on base and scoring when given the opportunity.
This team is definitely one to watch as they head into the final few weeks of the season and hopefully make a deep run in the State Tournament

Parking is available in the lot behind the school, and in the street on both sides of the school. Handicap parking is available in the lot behind the school. Please do not park in the staff parking lot or in the fire lane. Parking is also available at the municipal lot across the street from the school, but please be mindful of time limits.
