Chagrin Valley Conference Basketball Tournament Future

The Chagrin Valley Conference basketball tournament (CVCT) is an annual postseason basketball tournament for teams in the Chagrin Valley Conference, a high school Athletic Conference in Northeast Ohio. The tournament has been held every year since the conference’s inaugural Basketball season in 1976. It is typically held in February, after the conclusion of the regular season

The CVCT is open to all conference teams, regardless of their regular season record. The tournament is single-elimination, meaning that once a team loses a game, they are out of the tournament. The CVCT culminates with a Championship game in which the two remaining teams compete for the CVCT Championship Title and a spot in the Ohio high school Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Tournament

The CVCT has undergone several changes throughout its history. The most significant change occurred prior to the 2016-17 season when the tournament expanded from eight to sixteen teams. This expansion was necessitated by an increase in the number of conference teams from seven to fifteen. As a result of this expansion, the CVCT now consists of four rounds of play, with each round featuring four games.

The CVCT is one of fourteen postseason Basketball Tournaments sanctioned by the OHSAA. It is one of two postseason tournaments operated by the Chagrin Valley Conference (the other being the Chagrin Valley Conference Football Tournament).
