The Claymont high school baseball season is underway, and the team is looking strong. With a mix of experienced players and talented newcomers, the team is poised for a successful season

Head coach Tonya Mitchell is excited about the team’s potential. “We have a lot of talent on this team,” she said. “If we can come together and play as a team, I think we’ll be able to surprise some people.”

The team’s first game is against cross-town rival Stanton high school The game promises to be a competitive one, and both teams are expecting a large turnout from their supporters.

So far, the season has been off to a great start, and the team is looking forward to the rest of the season.

The Claymont high school baseball team is off to a great start this season! The team is led by Senior Pitcher Jake Walters, who has already committed to play baseball at the University of Louisville Other Top Players on the team include Senior Catcher Cooper Johnson Junior First Baseman Luke Wittman, and Sophomore Outfielder Brady Wilkinson. With a strong core of returning players and some promising newcomers, the team is looking forward to a successful season!

Claymont high school baseball Players to Watch

As the season gets underway, here are some of the top players to keep an eye on this year.

Pitcher Tony Gwynn Jr. is one of the most experienced players on the team and will be looked to as a leader both on and off the field. Outfielder Jason Heyward is a gifted hitter with a great arm who will be a key piece in the middle of the Claymont order. First baseman Joey Votto is a smart hitter with power who should anchor the Claymont lineup. And finally, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is a slick-fielding glove man who also has a good bat and should set the table at the top of the order.

Claymont high school baseball Highlights

The Claymont high school baseball team’s season is underway, and they have already had some great moments! In their first game against Newark high school senior pitcher Brandon Kline threw a complete game, only giving up four hits. The team also had a great offensive game, led by junior catcher Matt Johnson, who had two hits and three RBIs. The team won the game 9-1.

In their second game against rival Tuscarawas Central Catholic high school the team had another great offensive performance, led by sophomore first baseman Collin Moran, who had three hits and four RBIs. The team won the game 11-1.

The team is currently 2-0 and looks to continue their winning ways in their upcoming games!

Claymont High School’s baseball season is in Full Swing and that means Claymont fans and parents are gearing up for a season of excitement! Claymont high school has a long tradition of success in baseball, and this year’s team is looking to keep that tradition alive.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking to support your local team there are plenty of ways to get involved with Claymont High School Baseball Here are just a few ideas:

-Attend a game! Claymont High School’s home games are played at beautiful Shepherd Field, located just off of Interstate 70 in downtown Claymont. Check the school website or local newspaper for Game Times and ticket information.
-Become a member of the Claymont Baseball Boosters Club! The Boosters Club provides financial support for the team and organizes fun fan activities throughout the season. Membership dues are just $25 per family, and you can sign up at any Home game or by contacting the school directly.
-Volunteer your time! The Claymont baseball program is always in need of volunteers to help with things like concessions, ticket sales and field maintenance. If you’re interested in lending a hand, please contact the school.
