Clemson baseball analysis
Behind a strong pitching performance from starter Brooks Crawford and timely hitting, Clemson defeated Louisville 5-1 on Friday afternoon at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The victory improves Clemson’s record to 21-4 overall and 10-2 in ACC play. With the win, the Tigers have now won six games in a row and nine of their last 10 contests.
On the mound, Brooks Crawford was excellent, tossing seven innings of one-run ball while scattering just four hits and striking out four batters. It was a much-needed performance from the senior right-hander, who had struggled in his previous two starts.
At the plate, Grayson Byrd continued his red-hot start to the season, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Through 25 games, Byrd is now hitting .333 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs.
Clemson baseball opinion
Opinion: Clemson Baseball is one of the best teams in the country and has been for a few years now. They have great pitching, hitting, and defense, and they always seem to find a way to win close games. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, and I think this year’s team has what it takes to win the National Championship
