What are the D1 Baseball Regional predictions?

The D1 Baseball Regional predictions are in and it looks like there are some close matchups. The top team in each region will host a four-team, double-elimination tournament from June 1-4. The winners of each regional will advance to a best-of-three Super Regional held from June 8-11, with the winners of those series advancing to the College World Series

Some things to keep in mind when making your predictions:
-In the past five years, the No. 1 seed has won its regional just 17 times (out of 32 total regionals).
-No. 2 seeds have fared slightly better, winning 20 regionals in that span.
-The higher seed has won just four of the eight first-round matchups between No. 3 and No. 4 seeds in the past five years.

Here are our predictions for each of the 16 regionals:

1) Florida State Seminoles (43-17) vs. 4) Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (39-20) – The Seminoles are one of the hottest teams in the country, having won 20 of their last 22 games. They’ll be tested by a talented Florida Gulf Coast team, but we think Florida State’s pitching will be too much for the Eagles. Seminoles win 2-1.

2) Louisville Cardinals (44-15) vs. 3) Indiana Hoosiers (42-15) – The Cardinals come into this matchup as one of the favorites to win the College World Series and it’s easy to see why. They have one of the best pitching staffs in the country and their offense is no slouch either, averaging nearly seven runs per game. The Hoosiers have been one of the most surprising teams in the country this season and their offense can put up numbers with anyone, but we think Louisville’s pitching will be too much for them to handle. Cardinals Win 9-5.
