News

The Drew University Baseball Team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season The team will play a total of 30 games, 15 of which will be home games

The season will begin on February 28th with a Home game against Rutgers-Camden. The team will then play a total of four non-conference games before beginning conference play on March 8th. Conference games will be played against schools such as Susquehanna, Juniata, and Moravian.

Game Recaps

March 2nd- Drew University played their first game against Nyack College today. The game was scoreless until the 6th inning when Nyack scored 3 runs. In the bottom of the 7th, with Drew down 3-0, Matt Solomine hit a walk off homerun to left field giving Drew the win. The final score was 3-1, with Drew winning their first game of the season.

March 5th- In their second game of the season, Drew faced off against St. Joseph’s College. This game was much closer, with neither team scoring until the 5th inning when St. Joseph’s scored 2 runs. In the bottom of the 7th, with Drew down 2-0, Steve Cardullo hit a 2 run homerun to left field to tie the game up. The game went into Extra Innings and in the bottom of the 10th inning, Cardullo hit another homerun, this time to right field, giving Drew the win and their first sweep of the season. The final score was 4-2.

Features

Drew University’s baseball team compete in the Landmark Conference The conference includes nine colleges and universities located across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. All of the schools are private and range in size from about 2,000 students to nearly 8,000 students. Drew is a Division III school and does not offer athletic scholarships
