Looking back on the Duke 2011 Basketball season it’s hard to believe all that happened. From the early losses to the come-from-behind wins, this team had us on the edge of our seats all year. And, of course, who could forget that amazing NCAA tournament run?

Duke’s 2011 season: A year to remember
The Duke men’s basketball team had a season to remember in 2011. The Blue Devils won the NCAA championship finishing the season with a record of 35-5. Duke was led by a talented group of players, including National Player of the Year Kyrie Irving and future NBA All-Stars Grayson Allen and Jayson Tatum
It was a historic season for Duke, and one that will be remembered for years to come.

Duke’s 2011 NCAA tournament run was one for the ages. The Blue Devils battled their way through a tough field to reach the Final Four, where they ultimately fell to eventual champion Connecticut.
Duke’s road to the Final Four was filled with highlights. The Blue Devils opened the tournament with a thrilling win over Pittsburgh, followed by a come-from-behind victory over Texas in the Round of 32. In the Sweet 16, Duke took down defending champion Ohio State en route to the Elite Eight.
Although Duke ultimately came up short in their bid for a National Championship the 2011 season was a hugely successful one for the Blue Devils Duke finished the year with a record of 32-5, and established themselves as one of the top programs in college basketball
Duke’s 2011 ACC tournament run
Duke entered the 2011 ACC Tournament as the number one overall seed. They had a bye in the first round and played their first game against Maryland. Duke won 92-64. They then went on to play North Carolina in the ACC semifinals. Duke won 74-69. This set up a matchup with Florida State in the ACC Championship game which Duke won 65-61.
Duke entered the NCAA tournament as the number one overall seed. They won their first game against Hampton 89-58. They then went on to play Michigan in the round of 32. Duke won 73-71 in a close game This set up a matchup with Arizona in the Sweet Sixteen Duke won 68-53. This set up a matchup with Texas in the Elite Eight. Duke won 71-69 in another close game This set up a matchup with Connecticut in the Final Four, which Duke won 75-69.
Duke then played Butler in the National Championship game. Duke won 61-59 in yet another close game giving Duke their fourth National Championship and their first since 2001.

Duke’s 2011 regular season was truly a year to remember. The team went undefeated in conference play and won the ACC championship. They also won the NCAA tournament giving Duke their fourth National Championship
Duke was led by senior guard Nolan Smith who was named the ACC Player of the Year. Smith averaged 21.6 points per game and was the leading scorer for Duke in all but one game. He also had a career-high 35 points in Duke’s ACC tournament victory over North Carolina
Junior forward Kyle Singler was also a key player for Duke, averaging 16.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament after leading Duke to victory in the Championship game against Butler.
The 2011 Duke Basketball team will go down as one of the best in school history, and their season is a year that all Duke fans will remember fondly.

Duke’s 2011 non-Conference Schedule includes games against some of the best teams in the country. The Blue Devils will face off against Ohio State Michigan State and Connecticut in the Champions Classic, and will also take on Tennessee, Marquette, and Kentucky in the Big East/SEC Challenge Duke will also participate in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, taking on Indiana.

March Madness is upon us once again and college basketball fans are getting ready for the annual NCAA tournament One of the most popular teams in the tournament is Duke, which is seeded No. 1 in the Midwest region.
Duke has had a great season, winning the ACC regular season and tournament championships. The team is loaded with talent, led by freshman sensation Austin Rivers.
The Blue Devils are expected to make a deep run in the tournament and have a good chance to win it all. However, they will need to overcome some tough competition, including possible matchups with Syracuse, Kentucky and North Carolina
Duke has a lot of pressure on them to perform well in the tournament, but if they can live up to expectations, it could be a year to remember for Blue Devil fans.

Duke, the reigning NCAA champions, are the clear favorite to win the 2012 ACC tournament. The Blue Devils have a solid core of returnees from last year’s championship team, led by National Player of the Year candidate Austin Rivers. Duke also has one of the nation’s top recruiting classes headlined by Shabazz Muhammad, one of the most highly-touted prospects in recent years With all of this talent, Duke is primed to make a run at another ACC title.
