Each team plays a total of ten games during the regular season The teams then compete in a postseason tournament to determine the league champion.

The Fayette County baseball playoffs

The Fayette County Baseball Playoffs are approaching and excitement is in the air! This is the time of year when the best teams in the county face off against each other to see who will be crowned champion.

The playoffs are a double elimination tournament, meaning that each team must lose twice before they are out of the running. The first round of games will be held on Tuesday, May 14th at the Higher Seed’s home field. The second round of games will be held on Thursday, May 16th, also at the Higher Seed’s home field.

The semifinals will be held on Saturday, May 18th at a neutral site: Longview Park in Lexington. The first game will begin at 10:00am and the second game will follow at 1:00pm. The Championship game will be played on Sunday, May 19th at 1:00pm at a neutral site: Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.

As the sport of baseball continues to grow in popularity, so does the demand for quality facilities in which to play. In Fayette County, we are fortunate to have several state-of-the-art baseball complexes that are perfect for hosting tournaments, practices, and games.

One of the newest and most popular complexes is the Fayetteville Baseball Complex which opened in 2018. The complex features eight lighted fields, a concessions stand, and a batting cage It is also home to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers minor League Baseball team.

Another great complex is the Peachtree City Baseball Complex which opened in 2016. The complex has six fields, a concession stand and a playground. It is also home to the Georgia State Panther’s Baseball team

In addition to these two complexes, there are several other excellent baseball facilities in Fayette County including the Clayton County National Park Wolfforth Sports Complex and Heritage Park. With so many great options to choose from, there’s no excuse not to get out and enjoy America’s pastime!
