The first Gonzaga player to make an impact in the NBA was Frank Burgess. A three-time All-American, Burgess was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 1949 and went on to have a successful nine-year career in the league. Gonzaga really hit their stride in the 1970s, when center Bill Wennington and guard John Stockton became franchise players for their respective teams. In 2017, Gonzaga produced three first-Round Draft picks: Zach Collins, Dillon Brooks and Jordan Bell. All three players have gone on to have successful NBA careers.

Byron Wesley, who played at Gonzaga last season as a graduate transfer, is now on the Los Angeles Clippers’ roster.
