Interview with Graham Eikenberry
Graham Eikenberry is a rising star in the world of basketball. The 6’3” guard from Danville, Kentucky has already received scholarship offers from several colleges, and he’s only a sophomore in high school I had the chance to sit down with Graham and talk about his love for the game, his plans for the future, and what it feels like to be one of the top recruits in the country.
ME: So, Graham, you’re a pretty big deal in the Basketball World right now. How does it feel to be one of the top recruits in the country?
GE: It feels pretty surreal, to be honest. I never thought I’d be in this position, but I’m grateful for all of the opportunities that have come my way.
ME: When did you start playing basketball?
GE: I started playing when I was around five or six years old. My dad got me into it and I just fell in love with the game.
ME: You obviously have a lot of talent. What do you think makes you such a good player?
GE: I think my biggest asset is my speed. I’m able to get by defenders and get to the basket pretty well. And once I get into the lane, I have a pretty good jump shot too.
ME: Who are some of your role models in basketball?
GE: Growing up, my favorite player was Kobe Bryant But now that I’m getting older, I really admire guys like Lebron James and Steph Curry because they’re such complete players. They can score, rebound, pass, and play defense at a high level. That’s what I aspire to be like someday.
