Looking at the Greatest Baseball hitters of all time, it’s hard to argue against the likes of Babe Ruth Hank Aaron and Willie Mays. But who else belongs in the conversation? Let’s take a look at some of the other top contenders.

Ty Cobb

Ty Cobb is widely considered to be one of the Greatest Baseball hitters of all time. A brutal competitor, Cobb played professional baseball for 22 seasons and amassed a batting average of .366 over his career. He also holds the record for the most career hits, with 4,191. Cobb was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936.

Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth was an American professional baseball player who pitched for the Boston Red Sox from 1914 to 1919 and played for the New York Yankees from 1920 to 1934. Ruth is considered to be one of the greatest baseball players of all time and is often referred to as “The Sultan of Swat” or “The Bambino”. He set numerous Major League Baseball records during his career and still holds several records, including most career home runs (714), most career Slugging percentage (.686), and most career OPS+ (206).

Hank Aaron

Hank Aaron is widely considered to be one of the Greatest Baseball hitters of all time. He played for the Milwaukee / Atlanta Braves from 1954 to 1976 and is the all-time leader in both home runs and RBIs. Aaron was also a remarkably consistent player, appearing in at least 150 games in 15 different seasons.

Willie Mays

Born in 1931 in Westfield, Alabama, Willie Mays was one of the greatest baseball players of all time. A center fielder for most of his 22-season career, Mays was a 12-time All-Star who won two MVP Awards and the 1954 World Series MVP. He is widely considered one of the greatest outfielders of all time and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979.

Stan Musial

Stan Musial is widely considered to be one of the greatest baseball hitters of all time. Born in 1920, Musial was a three-time National League MVP and a seven-time World Series champion. He played his entire 22-year career with the St. Louis Cardinals and his .331 batting average is still the best in team history. Musial was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969.

Ted Williams

Ted Williams was an American baseball player and manager. He played his entire 20-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career for the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960. Williams is regarded as one of the greatest hitters of all time. Williams was a 19-time All-Star, won six American League (AL) batting championships, and two AL Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards. He hit .406 in 1941, making him the last MLB player to batting average over .400 in a season. Joe DiMaggio

Joe DiMaggio was a Baseball Legend who played for the New York Yankees from 1936 to 1951. During his time with the Yankees, DiMaggio helped the team win nine World Series titles. He was also named the American League’s Most Valuable Player three times.

DiMaggio was known for his incredible batting prowess. He holds the record for the longest hitting streak in Major League Baseball history, with 56 consecutive games in which he recorded a hit. He also holds the MLB record for the most home runs hit in a single season by a right-handed hitter, with 61 homers in 1937.

In addition to his impressive baseball stats DiMaggio was also known for his good looks and movie-star charisma. He was married to Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe from 1954 until her death in 1962.

After retiring from baseball, DiMaggio worked as a business executive and spent time promoting charitable causes. He died in 1999 at the age of 84.

Mickey Mantle

Mickey Mantle one of the greatest baseball hitters of all time, played for the New York Yankees from 1951-1968. A 3-time American League MVP, he was a 16-time All-Star and helped the Yankees win 7 World Series titles. He is widely considered one of the best players in baseball history

Pete Rose

Pete Rose is a former major league baseball player who has been banned from the sport for life due to his involvement in gambling. While he was an active player, Rose was one of the greatest hitters of all time, amassing more hits than any other player in history.
