The Griffins Hockey Schedule is Here!

The Griffins hockey schedule is finally here, and fans can’t wait to see their favorite team back in action. The Griffins will be playing their home games at the Van Andel Arena, and they’ll be looking to make a run at the Stanley Cup this year.

The schedule is packed with exciting games and fans will want to make sure they’re there to cheer on the Griffins. There are a few games that stand out as must-see matchups, and we’ve highlighted them below.

A Look at the Upcoming Season

Now that the off-season is officially over, it’s time to get ready for the new Griffins hockey season! Here’s a look at the schedule for the upcoming year:

The Griffins will open the season at home on October 5th against the Rochester Americans. The following night, they’ll take on the Utica Comets. Then, they’ll hit the road for a three-game road trip beginning with a game against the Hershey Bears on October 11th.

After returning home for two games, the Griffins will travel to Toronto to take on the Marlies on October 25th. They’ll wrap up their road trip with games against Belleville and Syracuse before returning home to host Grand Rapids’ rivals, the Chicago Wolves, on November 1st.

The month of November will be a busy one for the Griffins, as they’ll play a total of 16 games. Some of their notable matchups include home games against Manitoba (11/8), Cleveland (11/15), and Charlotte (11/29), as well as a road game against Milwaukee (11/24).

December will see the Griffins playing 14 games, including a five-game homestand from December 27th-January 4th against Manitoba, Rockford, Iowa, Tucson, and Grand Rapids’ other in-state rivals, the Detroit Red Wings

The Griffins will start 2019 off with a bang, playing seven games in 10 days. Their homestand continues into January with games against Hartford (1/5), Hershey (1/8), and Binghamton (1/12). Then they’ll hit the road for three games before returning home to close out January with back-to-back home games against Belleville (1/25) andIowa(1/26).

February will be another busy month for GRand Rapids as they play 16 games in 28 days. Their schedule includes several three-in-three weekends and starts off with a five-game road trip through Charlotte (2/1), Rochester (2/2), Toronto (2/6), Laval(2/8), and Belleville(2/9). After returning home for two weeks, they’ll head back out on the road for another five-game road trip through Utica(2/22), Syracuse(2/23), Wilkes-Barre Scranton(3//1), Hershey(3//2) ,and Hartford(3//3). They’ll finish off their February schedule with four straight home games against Texas(3//8), Manitoba(3//9 & 3//10) ,and springfield.(3//15) . .

Key Games to Watch

This season, the Griffins will face off against some intense competition. Here are some key games to watch out for:

-10/5 vs. Milwaukee: The Griffins’ first game of the season is sure to be a good one. They’ll be up against the tough Milwaukee Admirals who they have a long history with.

-11/16 vs. Hershey: The Hershey Bears are always a tough team to beat, and this game will be no exception. The Griffins will need to bring their best game if they want to come out on top.

-12/14 vs. Grand Rapids This is always a heated rivalry game, and both teams will be looking for the win. It’s sure to be an exciting match-up.

The Battle for the Calder Cup

The Griffins will play a total of 82 games in the 2019-20 season Their first game is on October 4th at home against the Charlotte Checkers. The season will end on April 11th, 2020.

The Road to the Playoffs

The Griffins have announced their schedule for the upcoming season Here are some key dates to remember:

Opening night is October 5th at Van Andel Arena against the Chicago Wolves. The Griffins will be on the road for their first five games, including a trip to Grand Rapids’ biggest rival, the Milwaukee Admirals.

The Griffins will host the Admirals on November 9th in what is sure to be an electric atmosphere. Other key Home Games include:

November 23rd vs Manitoba Moose
January 4th vs Rockford IceHogs
February 8th vs Charlotte Checkers
March 15th vs Hershey Bears

The Griffins in the playoffs

The Griffins are in the playoffs! Here is their schedule:

Monday, April 23 – vs. Syracuse Crunch – 7 p.m. – Van Andel Arena

Wednesday, April 25 – vs. Syracuse Crunch – 7 p.m. – Van Andel Arena

Saturday, April 28 – at Syracuse Crunch – 7 p.m.

If they win Monday and Wednesday, they will advance to the next round!

The Calder Cup Finals

The Calder Cup Finals are the best of seven games played between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference champions of the American Hockey League The Griffins will face off against the Syracuse Crunch in a best-of-seven series for the cup.
