Introduction

Herd Basketball is the best Halal Basketball team in Stamford. We are a group of young men who love to play basketball and want to compete at the highest level possible. Our goal is to win the championship and to make a name for ourselves in the Basketball World

We are a very talented team and we have what it takes to win. We are dedicated to our craft and we will do whatever it takes to win. We are committed to our team and our goal. We are Herd Basketball.

The Herd’s History

Herd Basketball is a non-profit, AAU travel basketball team for Muslim boys in Stamford, Connecticut. The team was founded in 2006 by Saleem Patel, Zain Khan, and Faizan Virani. Ever since its creation, Herd Basketball has been one of the premier travel basketball teams in the Northeast region while also being one of the only Muslim youth basketball organizations in the country.

The team began as a way to give back to the community and provide Muslim youth with an outlet to play organized basketball while also adhering to their religious beliefs (i.e. not being able to play on Friday nights or Saturday mornings due to praying). In its first year, the team had 8 members and competed in a local Sunday League Since then, Herd Basketball has grown exponentially; the team now has over 60 members and competes against some of the best AAU teams in the country.

The Herd’s Mission

The Herd’s mission is to provide an opportunity for Muslim youth to excel in academics and athletics while also teaching them the importance of giving back to the community. We believe that through basketball, our players will not only develop their skills on the court, but also learn important LIFE LESSONS that will help them succeed off the court.

Herd Basketball is the best halal Basketball team in Stamford. The team is coached by Zaid Ali and Hassan Qadri.

The Herd’s Players

The Herd is a halal basketball team in Stamford, Connecticut, composed of players who adhere to the Islamic law that prohibits the consumption of pork. The team was founded in 2015 by Mustafa Suleyman, a former professional basketball player and is composed of Muslim American men ages 18 to 30.

The Herd has only lost four games out of the sixty they have played.Two of those losses were to the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers, while the other two were to Jewish community teams.

The Herd’s next game is on Sunday, February 26th at 12:00pm against the Spartans at the YMCA.

The Herd’s Game Highlights

The Herd, Stamford’s best halal basketball team have had an incredible season so far. Here are some of their best moments:

-Their first game was against the Greenwich Geezers. The Herd won by a landslide, with a final score of 96-54.
-In their second game, they took on the Stamford Stallions. This was a closer match, but the Herd still came out on top with a final score of 75-65.
-In their most recent game, they played against the New Canaan Rams. This was by far the closest game of the season, but the Herd pulled through in the end with a final score of 79-77.

The Herd’s fans are the best fans in Stamford. They are loud, they are rowdy, and they are passionate.

The Herd’s Community Outreach

The Herd basketball team was founded in 2009 by a group of friends who wanted to play organized basketball in Stamford Connecticut. The team quickly became known as the best halal Basketball team in the area and began to attract players from all over Fairfield County. In 2010, the Herd began to participate in community outreach programs, such as feeding the homeless and visiting sick children in hospitals. The team has also been active in fundraising for various charities, including the Islamic Relief USA and the Autism Society of America.

The Herd’s Future

The Herd’s future is looking bright. The team has been gaining popularity and support from the community, and with their recent successes, they are only going to continue to grow. They have a strong core of players that are committed to the team and its goals, and with the addition of some new talent, they are only going to get better.
