It was a dominant performance from start to finish for the Pride, who never trailed in the game and led by as many as 30 points. With the victory, Hofstra improves to 5-2 on the season.

The Hofstra men’s Basketball team continued their winning streak with a victory against James Madison University on Saturday, January 27. With a final score of 73-62, the Pride kept their undefeated record in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). This latest victory marks the team’s sixth straight win and their ninth in the last ten games.

Hofstra’s success this season can be attributed to the strong performance of senior guard Juan’ya Green. Green is currently averaging 17 points per game and is shooting 46 percent from three-point range Additionally, Green has been named CAA Player of the Week four times this season, most recently after his impressive performance against Towson University on January 20. In that game, Green scored 33 points and had eight assists, leading the Pride to a 92-83 victory.

With Saturday’s win, Hofstra improves to 17-5 overall and 9-0 in conference play The Pride will look to continue their winning ways when they take on Drexel University on Tuesday, January 30.

Hofstra’s Impressive Performance On The Court

It was another victory for Hofstra University’s basketball team as they defeated the University of North Carolina at Wilmington Seahawks by a score of 92-64. With the win, Hofstra extends their winning streak to four games and improves their record to 13-4 on the season.

UNCW got off to a hot start, making four of their first five shots from the field to take an early 10-4 lead. But Hofstra would quickly storm back, going on a 15-2 run over the next five minutes to take a 19-12 lead. The Seahawks would fight back and take a one-point lead with just over eight minutes remaining in the first half, but Hofstra would once again assert themselves and finish the half on a 17-5 run to take a 41-32 lead into the intermission.

In the second half, it was more of the same as Hofstra would slowly but surely pull away from UNCW. The Seahawks would get no closer than nine points in the second half as Hofstra cruised to victory. Four different players scored in double figures for Hofstra, led by freshman Justin Wright-Foreman with 21 points. Senior Deron Powers added 16 points and eight assists while juniors Jamall Robinson and Rokas Gustys each chipped in with 10 points.

The win was an important one for Hofstra as they continue to jockey for position in the Colonial Athletic Association standings. The team currently sits in fourth place in the conference with an 8-3 record, but they are just two games back of first place Northeastern. The team will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to play James Madison University on Saturday afternoon.
