Al Masterton coached the team for 19 years, from 1934-1953. During his time at Holy Cross, he compiled an impressive record of 348-175-5. His 348 wins are still the most in school history. Masterton’s teams won seven conference championships and made five trips to the NCAA tournament

Jay Murphy took over for Masterton in 1954 and coached the team for 28 years. Murphy is third all-time in wins at Holy Cross with294. His teams won eight conference championships and made four trips to the NCAA tournament

Ed Donnelly took over for Murphy in 1982 and coached the team for 12 years. Donnelly is fourth all-time in wins at Holy Cross with 249. His teams won two conference championships and made one trip to the NCAA tournament

Joe McCarthy took over for Donnelly in 1994 and has coached the team ever since. McCarthy has compiled an impressive record of 524-382-3 in his 23 years at Holy Cross. Under McCarthy, the team has won four conference championships and made seven trips to the NCAA Tournament
