Men’s basketball tournament

The Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament is the annual tournament for the Horizon League The tournament has been held every year since 1979. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. The winner of the tournament receives the Horizon League’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament

In 2019, the tournament was won by the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, who defeated Wright State University in the Championship game

Women’s basketball tournament

The following is the schedule for the 2021 Horizon League Women’s Basketball Tournament All times are Central Standard Time. The tournament will be played from March 10-13 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, IN.

Quarterfinals – Wednesday, March 10
11:00 am – No. 8 Youngstown State vs. No. 1 Wright State
1:30 pm – No. 5 Northern Kentucky vs. No. 4 IUPUI
6:00 pm – No. 7 Milwaukee vs. No. 2 Green Bay
8:30 pm – No. 6 Cleveland State vs. No 3 Oakland

Semifinals – Friday, March 12
6:00 pm – Semifinal #1 (ESPNU/WatchESPN)

Championship Game – Sunday, March 14

Men’s basketball championship

The Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament is the annual conference tournament held by the Horizon League. The tournament determines the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship

The tournament has been held every year since 1979. It is a single-elimination tournament and is traditionally held on the campus of the higher seed in the first round, with the remaining rounds at a pre-determined neutral site. The Championship game is usually played on the first Sunday in March and is broadcast live on ESPN.

Women’s basketball championship

The Horizon League Women’s Basketball Championship is the annual conference Basketball Championship tournament for the Horizon League. The tournament is held at the end of the women’s college basketball regular season It was first held in 1988, and is currently a single-elimination tournament. The winner, declared conference champion, receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament

History
The tournament was first held in 1988, when it was won by Wright State Wright State has won the most championships, with eight titles. Detroit and Green Bay are tied for second with five championships each.

Format
The current format of the tournament features all ten League teams playing in the first round, with the top two seeds receiving a bye to the semifinals. The quarterfinals and semifinals are held atcampus sites of the higher-seeded team, while the Championship game is played at a predetermined site.

Men’s basketball player of the year

The Men’s basketball player of the Year is an annual award given to the best basketball player in the Horizon League. The award was first given out in 1980, and has been won by some of the best players in college basketball history. Players like Michael Jordan Shaquille O’Neal, and Lebron James have all won the award, and it is considered one of the most prestigious awards a College Basketball player can receive.

Women’s basketball player of the year

The Horizon League Basketball Standings are used to determine the women’s basketball player of the year. The Horizon League is a NCAA Division I conference made up of eleven schools located in the Midwestern United States The conference participates in the Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI).

Men’s basketball coach of the year

Horizon League Men’s basketball coach of the Year is an annual award given to the Horizon League men’s basketball coach that has exhibited the most outstanding coaching during the Regular Season The Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament determines the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament

Women’s basketball coach of the year
