The Postseason

It’s October, and that means the MLB playoffs are in full swing! The postseason is upon us, and that means it’s time to find out who will be crowned this year’s World Series Champion.

This year, the playoffs will consist of the same format as last year: the American League Wild Card Game, four Divisional Round matchups (two each in the AL and NL), and then the League Championship Series in both the AL and NL. The World Series will then pit the winner of the AL against the winner of the NL.

The first round of playoffs is always the Wild Card Game, in which the two teams with the best records who did not win their respective divisional titles play each other for a spot in the Divisional Round.

The four teams that win their respective Wild card games move on to play each other in the Divisional Round. In each League, there are two different series’ taking place: one between the team with the best record in that league against the team that won their Wild Card Game and another between the two remaining teams in that league.

The winners of each Divisional Round series then advance to their League’s Championship Series In each League, there is a best-of-seven series played between the two teams remaining, with those winners then advancing to… you guessed it…the World Series!

So gear up, baseball fans! It’s sure to be an exciting postseason!

The All-Star Game

The annual Major League Baseball All-Star game is upon us, and this year it will be held at Fenway Park in Boston, home of the defending World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox As always, the game will pit the best players from the American League against the best from the National League in a matchup that is sure to be exciting.

This year’s game will take place on Tuesday, July 16th at 8:00 pm ET. The AL will be looking to extend their streak of All-Star Game victories to six games, while the NL will be looking to end that streak and get back on top. Be sure to tune in and catch all the action!

The World Series

The World Series is the annual Championship Series of Major League Baseball (MLB) in North America contested since 1903 between the American League (AL) champion team and the National League (NL) champion team. The winner of the World Series championship is determined through a best-of-seven playoff, and the winning team is awarded the Commissioner’s Trophy. As the series is played in October, during the fall season in North America it is sometimes referred to as the Fall Classic.
