Illinois Basketball

With the new year upon us, it’s time to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions. For the Illinois Basketball Illini, there are a few things that they can do to make sure that they have a successful season in 2022.

First and foremost, the team needs to focus on staying healthy. This is always important, but it’s especially crucial for a team that is relying on young players to step up and contribute. The Illini have a lot of talent, but if Key Players miss significant time due to injuries, it will be difficult for the team to reach its potential.

Secondly, the team needs to continue to develop its young players Players like Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn have already shown that they are capable of being stars at the college level, but there are other players on the roster who need to take steps forward in their development. If the Illini can get production from players like Andre Curbelo and Giorgi Bezhanishvili, they will be in good shape.

Finally, the team needs to figure out what its identity is going to be. The Illini have been one of the most inconsistent teams in recent memory, and they need to find a way to put together complete games on a more consistent basis. Whether that means playing faster or slower, or focusing more on defense or offense, the Illini need to figure out what works best for them and stick with it.

All in all, these are just a few things that the Illinois basketball Illini can do to make sure that they have a Successful Season in 2022. If they can stay healthy, develop their young players and find an identity, there’s no reason why they can’t compete for a conference title and make a run at the NCAA tournament

Illinois Basketball: New Years Resolutions For 2022

The Illinois Fighting Illini men’s basketball team has a lot to be proud of. They’ve been to the NCAA Tournament 31 times, they’ve won 18 conference championships and they’ve made it to the Final Four four times. But there’s always room for improvement, and here are some New Years resolutions for the team for 2022:

1. Win a conference championship
The Illini haven’t won a conference championship since 2002, when they won the Big Ten regular season title. They came close in 2004 and 2005, but lost in the conference tournament final both years. Winning a Conference Championship would be a great way to start off 2022.

2. Make it back to the NCAA Tournament
Illinois hasn’t been to the NCAA tournament since 2013, when they lost in the first round. They came close in 2019 and 2020, but lost in the Big Ten Tournament both years. Making it back to the NCAA tournament would be a great accomplishment for the team.

3. Win an NCAA tournament game
Illinois hasn’t won an NCAA Tournament game since 2005, when they beat Nevada in the first round. They came close in 2013 and 2014, but lost in the first round both years. Winning an NCAA Tournament game would be a great way to end 2022.

Illini: New Years Resolutions For 2022

The Illinois Basketball Illini have a lot to be proud of. They have a great record and are currently ranked in the top 25. They have a lot of potential and are looking to build on their success in the upcoming year. Here are some new years resolutions for the team:

1) Improve communication on the court- One issue that has plagued the team in the past is a lack of communication on the court. This can lead to players not being on the same page and can cause turnovers and other issues. The team needs to work on communicating better so that they can avoid these problems.

2) Improve defensive intensity- The team has shown at times that they can be lazy on defense. This has led to them giving up easy baskets and allowing teams to get back into games. They need to focus on playing harder on defense so that they can get stops when they need them.

3) Be more consistent- One issue that has hurt the team is their inconsistency. They will sometimes play great for a few games and then have a few bad games. If they can be more consistent, it will help them win more games and potentially make a run in the NCAA tournament

4) Limit turnovers- Another issue that has plagued the team is their turnover problem. They have at times been careless with the ball and this has led to easy points for their opponents. If they can take care of the ball better, it will help them win more games.

5)Make Free throws Free throws are important and the team needs to do a better job of making them. This is something that they should be able to improve with some practice and it could make a big difference in close games

New Years Resolutions For 2022: Illinois basketball Illini

The first resolution on the list has to be winning the Big Ten Conference The Illini have not done that since 2004-05, when they shared the regular season title with Iowa. It would be an incredible accomplishment for a team that is reloading with young talent this season. Coach Brad Underwood has assembled a promising recruiting class that includes five-star center Kendric Davis, who is ranked No. 7 nationally by ESPN. The Illini also have four-star point guard Andre Curbelo, who gives them another playmaker to go along with Ayo Dosunmu in the backcourt.

The second resolution is to make a run in the NCAA Tournament Illinois has not been to the Sweet 16 since 2005 and has not made it to the Final Four since 1989. With the talent that Underwood has assembled, there is no reason why the Illini cannot make a deep run in the tournament next year.

The third and final resolution for Illinois is to continue to improve its home court advantage at State Farm Center. The Illini went 15-3 at home last season, but they were just 6-12 on the road. If they want to take that next step as a program, they need to start winning more games away from home.

New Years Resolutions For 2022: Illinois Basketball

It’s that time of year again where people like to reflect on the past twelve months and set resolutions for the new year. As we turn the page on 2020 and head into 2021, there are a few resolutions the Illinois Basketball team should consider.

-Get healthy: The Illini were one of the most injury-plagued teams in the country last season. A healthy roster would go a long way in competing for a Big Ten title
-Find a consistent shooter: Outside of Ayo Dosunmu, Illinois didn’t have anyone they could count on to make shots from the perimeter. They need to find someone who can knock down shots consistently to take pressure off of Dosunmu.
-Develop some depth: The Illini only played seven guys significant minutes last season. They need to develop some depth so they don’t have to rely so heavily on their starters.
-Close out games: Illinois had a tendency to let leads slip away last season. If they can learn how to close out games, they could be a dangerous team come tournament time.
