-Pitchers:
Ace pitcher Matt sologestril will be looked to as the team’s leader on the mound. He will be joined by fellow pitchers Sammy Barnhill, Nick Burdi, and Luke Harrison.

-Catchers:
Behind the plate, the Hoosiers will have a solid corps of catchers led by senior Kyle Schwarber. Schwarber was an All-Big Ten selection last season and is considered one of the best defensive catchers in the conference. He will be joined by junior Chris Cizek and sophomore Josh Bard.

-Infielders:
The Hoosiers will have a strong infield this season led by seniors Dustin DeMuth and Brad Hartong. Both DeMuth and Hartong are All-Big Ten caliber players and will provide leadership for the younger infielders. Other key contributors will be junior Scott Donley, sophomore Will Nolden, and freshman Micah Johnson.

-Outfielders:
The Hoosiers also have a deep group of outfielders led by senior Casey Rodrigue. Rodrigue is a three-year starter who has been an All-Big Ten performer each of the last two seasons. Joining him in the outfield will be junior Collin Bryant, sophomores Will Boesen and Craigdedeaux 2018, and freshman Elijah Dunham.

Newcomers

There are many new names on the Indiana University baseball roster for the upcoming season

Redshirt sophomore Dylan Bush will don the Crimson and Cream for the first time this season after transferring from Western Kentucky The Harlan, Ky., native is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed pitcher who appeared in eight games, all in relief, during his one season with the Hilltoppers. He recorded a 4.91 ERA in 8.2 innings of work, striking out 11 batters while walking four.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Jake Rubi will also don an IU uniform for the first time this season after transferring from Madison College. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Fitchburg, Wis., native was a NJCAA honorable mention All-American and earned first team all-conference and all-region honors after going 10-1 with a 1.98 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 86 innings pitched last season. He was also named Madison College’s Male Athlete of the Year.

Infielder Utilityman Tanner Gordon comes to Bloomington by way of Phoenix College where he batted .380 with 19 RBIs and four home runs as a freshman in 2018. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Glendale, Ariz., native was named to the 2018 NJCAA Division II All-World Series team after leading his team to a runner up finish.

Schedule

The IU baseball program has released its schedule for the upcoming 2020 season. The Hoosiers will open the campaign with a three-game series at Florida State from February 14-16. After that, they’ll have a pair of midweek games against Notre Dame on February 18 and 19 before heading to Charleston, South Carolina for a tournament hosted by The Citadel from February 21-23.
