Reed was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in the second round of the NBA Draft after a successful college career with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels He played two seasons with the Hornets before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he played for six seasons. His best season came in his fourth year with the Clippers, when he averaged 12 points and four rebounds per game He retired from the NBA after eight seasons, having played for three different teams.

Reed was a four-year starter and three-time All-American safety at the University of Georgia He was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2019, when he had 63 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles. He was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation’s Top Defensive back.
