The James Island baseball team is a semi-professional Baseball Team that competes in the Coastal Plain League The team is made up of collegiate athletes from around the country who come to Charleston to play baseball during the summer months.

The team is managed by Head Coach Jay Heafner, who has been with the organization since its inception in 2003. During his time with the team, Heafner has led the team to five Coastal Plain League championships.

Players on the James Island baseball team have gone on to play in Major League Baseball including former James Island pitcher Mitch Williams who played for several teams over his twelve-year career, including the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs
