Ballard was born in San Francisco California, and grew up in the Bay Area He played Little League Baseball and then went on to play high school baseball at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California. After high school he attended college at the University of Southern California (USC), where he played baseball for the Trojans.
During his time with USC, Ballard was named an All-American and helped lead the Trojans to a College World Series appearance. He was drafted by the MLB’s Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 2004 MLB Draft
Ballard made his MLB debut with the Athletics in 2007 and spent two seasons with the team before being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2009. He spent four seasons with the Rays, including two as a member of their starting rotation. In 2012, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs where he spent one season before becoming a free agent
Since becoming a Free Agent Ballard has not been signed by another MLB team. However, he continues to play baseball professionally in independent leagues.

Jeff Ballard was born in Kansas City Missouri, on August 12, 1965. He grew up playing baseball and basketball in his hometown, but it was baseball that always held the biggest appeal for him. After graduating from high school Ballard attended the University of Nebraska on a baseball scholarship. He pitchforked his way through college, amassing an impressive 21-5 record over his four years there.
After graduation, Ballard was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 1987 Major League Baseball draft. He made his Major League debut with the Orioles in 1989 and pitched for them until 1992, when he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates He pitched for the Pirates for two seasons before being traded to the Kansas City Royals in 1994. He spent three seasons with the Royals before signing as a free agent with the Chicago Cubs in 1997.
Ballard enjoyed his best season as a professional in 1998 with the Cubs, going 12-6 with a 3.67 earned run average. He pitched for the Cubs until 1999, when he was traded to the Boston Red Sox He spent one season with the Red Sox before being traded back to the Cubs in 2000. He finished his career with Chicago in 2001 before retiring from baseball at the age of 36.
During his 15-year career, Ballard compiled a 93-92 record with a 4.13 ERA and 1,051 strikeouts. While he never won a Cy Young Award or made an All-Star team he was a dependable pitcher who gave everything he had every time he took to the mound. After his playing career ended, Ballard became a pitching coach at various levels of minor league baseball before finally getting his big break in 2018 when he was hired as the pitching coach for the Toronto Blue Jays

He played eight seasons in the majors, mostly with the Tigers, but also spent time with the Oakland Athletics Cleveland Indians and Toronto Blue Jays He retired from baseball in 1994.

The first team on my list is the Yankees. I have always been a fan of the Yankees, ever since I was a kid. I grew up watching them on TV and cheering them on, and I even got to play against them once in the minor leagues. They are a great team with a rich history, and I am proud to be a fan.
The second team on my list is the Red Sox I know that they are our rivals, but I have always respected them as a team. They have some of the best players in the game, and they always give us a good fight. I am glad that we finally beat them in the World Series last year!
The third team on my list is the Cubs. They are another one of my childhood teams, and I have always had a soft spot for them. They haven’t had much success in recent years but I still believe in them. They have a lot of young talent, and I think they will be great again someday soon.
