He was promoted to Double-A Trenton midway through the 2017 season and made four starts for the team before being shut down with elbow inflammation.

Rogers made his Major League debut on April 18, 2019, against the Baltimore Orioles In that game, he became just the third Yankee in history to strike out the first four batters he faced in a game, joining Allie Reynolds (1951) and Mariano Rivera (1995).
