Karl Foster’s baseball journey
Karl Foster’s baseball journey began in 2008 when he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays He played in the minor leagues for three years before making his Major League debut in 2011. He played for the Rays for two years before being traded to the Chicago Cubs in 2013. He played for the Cubs for one year before being released. He then played for the independent Lehigh Valley IronPigs for one year. In 2015, he signed with the Miami Marlins and is currently playing for their Triple-A affiliate, the New Orleans Zephyrs.
How Karl Foster became a baseball player
Karl Foster always loved baseball. As a young kid, he would play catch with his dad in the front yard and dream of someday playing in the Major Leagues He played on his High School team and was even scouted by a few colleges, but he didn’t get drafted after graduation. So, he decided to take the long road to the majors through the minor leagues.
He started out in rookie ball, playing for the Lowell Spinners in Massachusetts. He worked his way up through the Single-A, Double-A, and Triple-A levels, finally getting called up to the big leagues in September of 2010. He made his Major League debut against the Houston Astros and got his first hit off of Future Hall of Famer Roy Oswalt.

Foster played for several different teams throughout his career, including the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox He also spent time in the minor leagues, before finally retiring from baseball in 2006.
