The Kennesaw Baseball Association’s history

The Kennesaw Baseball Association (KBA) was founded in 1957 as a youth baseball organization. The KBA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and is one of the oldest baseball organizations in Cobb County, Georgia. The KBA is also a proud member of the Cobb County Baseball Association (CCBA). The KBA’s mission is “to provide an opportunity for the children of Cobb County to play organized baseball in a safe and competitive environment.”

The KBA currently offers youth baseball programs for players ages 4-18. The KBA also offers a competitive travel baseball program for players ages 9-14. The travel baseball program provides players with the opportunity to play against some of the best teams in the state of Georgia.

The KBA is headquartered at Legacy Park in Kennesaw, Georgia. Legacy Park is a 28-acre, state-of-the-art recreation facility that features seven lighted baseball/softball fields, four lighted tennis courts, two lighted sand volleyball courts, four lighted pickleball courts, a playground, pavilions, picnic areas, and walking trails.

The KBA is governed by an eleven-member Board of Directors that consists of volunteer members who are elected by the membership at the Annual Meeting each December. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting policies, approving budgets, and hiring staff.

The KBA employs two full-time staff members and several part-time staff members who work at Legacy Park. These staff members are responsible for maintaining the facilities, planning and running events, and assisting with daily operations.
